Happy New Year !

Hi wanted to pop on and wish everyone a "Happy New Year". We are away visiting family for the New Year celebrations but plan to have a drink or 2; a yummy, calorie filled Chinese for tea (!); a silly game or 2 or even 3 . . . depending on how much "funny juice" we happen to sip and then after welcoming in the New Year, we will turn to my little sis and sing very loudly, "Happy Birthday"!

So as I raise my glass, I wish you and your family a "Happy New Year" and look forward to seeing you all in 2010.

Many thanks for all your support, encouragement and for letting me share with you my crafting adventures . . . some good and some bad. Also, for sharing your crafting lives & fab projects which constantly inspire me to continue with this addictive, sometimes frustrating but 100% rewarding hobby.

Happy New Year everyone,

Lou

Have been published ! ! !

Nikky over at Polka Doodles had said a while back that 2 of my cards were going to be published but have to be honest and say, wasn't 100% sure when ! ! ! That'll teach me not to read Nikky's instructions more carefully . . . sorry Nikky! Anyhow the 2 cards appear in Complete Cardmaking #21 and are part of a 5 PAGE feature on Polka Doodles . . . . WAY TO GO NIKKY & KRIS ! ! !

Both cards are made using the FAB "Not for Girls" double CD; the first card featured is this one and don't you just love this Jazz image? I have layered it several times (although photo doesn't show it !!!) and have also used the image on many a card too. It comes in loads of different colours which is fab and also some gorge music papers too !

The second of my cards featured is this "tongue in cheek" robot one. The robot's expression is just so mischievous that I had to do a silly card (!) with it. The alphabets & backing paper are also from the "Not for Girls" CD.

As you can gather am a little chuffed with myself and loved seeing them on the gloss page of the magazine . . . my really early Christmas present. Many thanks Nikky for thinking that my work was good enough to be published and for also showing my DT bits on TV via Create & Craft - hey, hey gotta bask in my 15 minutes of fame now ! lol All the girls on the Polka Doodles DT make such inspirational projects that it has been a pleasure to "feed off" that creative vibe . . . whoops . . . anyone would think I was giving a thank you speech at an awards ceremony . . will be quiet now . . . honest !

Off to make some jam tarts and brownies . . . well should say, tidy up after the boys have made them ! All I can say, thank goodness for "dishwashers".

Take care and if you weren't aware, Santa is going to be here really, really soon,

Last minute card !

I suppose that this is better late then never but unfortunately my OH managed to have an accident (before the snow arrived) and that has left me a bit pre-occupied !

It is another fab sketch again this week by Shaz and it was just the stepping point I needed to get a card made for a family friend who is guitar mad!

. . . and I've made another easel card . . am getting into these for some unknown reason ! The image is from a royalty free clip art site which I have layered (even if the photo's don't show it very well) and the papers are from Funky Fairy's "Merry Christmas" kit. Again, this was another quick card to make with loads of matting & layering.

The sentiments on the larger card panel were computer generated and the bottom sentiment is an SU stamp.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Fab'n' Funky - sketch

Caardvarks - digital challenge ! Loving this challenge ! !

Creative Craft Challenges - waiting for Santa

Simon Says Challenge - just say "Merry Christmas"

C.R.A.F.T Challenge - which is simply a "Free for all" challenge . . simply translated . . make anything you like - my sort of challenge.

DU2DS - last minute Christmas cards - yep, this one definitely fits here ! lol

Have also noticed that Pile It On want us to use anything digital and yep my card fits that too !

Think that's it for now and I hope everyone is enjoying the snow !??!

ICS challenge #46

My goodness the Christmas is almost HERE and I haven't even put the Christmas tree up yet ! ! Have to say that we never put our tree up until 20th December as Luke's birthday is on 19th, and we like him to feel that we celebrate his birthday before Christmas !

This is the last ICS challenge of this year and the next new challenge will be on 5th January 2010 . . . however this didn't stop Dawn producing a fab sketch (as always).

I decided to make another easel card as I wanted to use a photo of my nephew from last year as he looked so "darned cute" and I thought my sister & B-I-L would love a more personalised card . . well I hope they do!

Teague (my nephew) is wearing Aaron's hairy, claw slippers & Luke's Christmas hat. He loved them and walked around with this outfit on for ages ! How he didn't trip over, I'll never know.

As I knew which image I wanted to use this card came together really quickly and I have used several papers from different Funky Fairy's kits. All the papers complimented the photo perfectly. The " Ho, Ho, Ho!" sentiment was made on the computer; a bit of layering & it was done!

The large arrows, holly leaves & trees are all hand cut but the stamped sentiment is from SU. I must also take the time to apologise to every one who entered the ICS sketch last week as I unfortunately have not had the time to visit you all and see your gorgeous projects as I have been a little busy (see post below) but I PROMISE to visit everyone this week.

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz challenge which is to use "Red, Green, White or Silver "- as you can see I've opted for red, green & white!

DU2DS - they also have a colour challenge with is "red, green & your choice of neutral". Although I haven't used a digi image all the papers used are from digi downloads !

One Stop Craft - they have asked us to make something for the theme "Christmas Love" and I think this card falls into this category because of all the reasons that it was made!

Caardvarks - digital challenge in honour of the Hero Arts Digital showcase they are running at the moment.

Take care,

Lou

Phew . . . what a week !

Must start this post by apologising to my "Polka Doodle" team mates for my non existent post on Friday . . . but hey those girls made some "awesome" cards for this weeks sketch. If you haven't seen what they have made, please do pop over to the Polka Doodles challenge blog for a good nose !

Unfortunately my friend was involved in a nasty car crash which meant I was on emergency baby-sitting duties. Thankfully she is well, minus several large bruises and a frozen shoulder from the whiplash but her car is very poorly to say the least. Maria was stationary when she was hit by a car and the force of the impact sent her into the opposite lane and into the path of a skip lorry - the story was enough for me to want to change my underwear and I can only imagine the horror she must of felt. She is on the mend but will not go into a car at the moment - not sure if that will change very soon either. As I said I was babysitting and had to relinquish my role on Sunday which I was thoroughly enjoying but, it had to end !

However, I had made my cards . . . yep more than one as I was inspired by a previous DCM challenge where you had to use your offcuts to make your card blanks. I made 3 similar cards using the same papers etc and have to say, made loads more for the kiddies at school.

Well better dash as I have so much catching up to do that it's not true and I hope this weekend to have a totally uneventful blog mooch as we have broken up from school.

Take care,

Lou

A "Male" card . . . I hope!

It's my eldest son's birthday on 19th December and am trying to be organised . . . I blame Shaz personally as her "organisational" skills are rubbing off ! The only thing is that I am very organised at school but not at home and this new me is starting to frighten my family !

I have used the sketch from "Fab 'n' Funky" challenges for my card . . .

and papers from the "More for Men" kit from Funky Fairy's Papercrafts. Now at "Fab 'n' Funky" if you use the additional theme which is "All that Glitters" you get 2 entries into the draw for some gorgeous Doodle Palace images. Well, I absolutely, categorically, emphatically dislike using glitter, so this was not a comfortable thing for me to do but I took a deep breath and just got on with it ! lol x

Here is my card and my "Glitter" bits are the circles which have been glittered and beaded (in a manly way of course !) and also I have used extra glitter around the edges with my Stickles Glitter Glue. Just now hoping that I haven't iver done things with the glitter and Luke thinks his card is a touch too feminine !

I am going to enter this card into the C.R.A.F.T Challenge which is "Christmas Birthday's" and this is my 2nd card for their challenge. Well it was the motivation I needed to make the much needed Birthday cards I require.

Well gotta dash . . seems to be my standard mantra at the moment but have loads of prep to do for my "Glitter Morning" at school tomorrow fingers crossed, Mr Scheduler will pop my post up to appear tomorrow (Wednesday) !

Take care,

Lou

For my Lil Sis !

It's my Little Sisters birthday on New Years Day and I am feeling organised ! It doesn't happen often but when it does . . . watch out world ! Decided that I really must make an easel card and love the look and when made, they are so striking and what's even nicer . . . easy to make !

Now Dawn over at Inspirational Card Sketches (ICS) has drawn another great sketch . . . where do you get your ideas from for all your sketches ?

ICS have been sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and we got to chose an image to play with . . . I chose "Jennifer Latte (moped)" because it reminded me so much of my Lil Sis ! Not sure she would agree though but hey, TOUGH sis ! So in love with these images and feel the need to collect them all . . the next one I HAVE TO HAVE is the "Hairstyle Latte".

Here is the top bit of the easel card and I have used some old DCWV papers from the Teenage stack, some MM ribbons & the flowers are from my stash. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I have then layered parts of the image to fit Dawn's sketch.

Here's the card in full. The sentiment is from SU and designed to work with their oval punches. The strip has been left deliberately blank as I'm going to write here. All card stock used is also SU . . . but don't know each colour . . . sorry !

Now I am also going to enter my card in to the even more challenges (other than ICS) and they are as follows:

Cute Card Thursday - theme this week is "Swirly Girly" and this is my 2nd card into this challenge.

Cardvaarks - who want you to use a digital image or some digital . . . and yep, have done that!

One Stop Craft Challenge who want us to use fancy folds. OK, I concede that my card doesn't have that many folds, but hey, I think it's a fancy one . . . tenuous I know.

2 Red Banana's - new challenge blog (well it is to me !) I found whilst have a visit around everyone's blogs and love their theme this week to make something "reflecting warmth". Definitely think the "Jennifer Latte" image does just that.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge which is "Christmas Birthday" and I know my Sisters birthday is !st January but hey, the date is still part of the festive season so I am going to chance y arm and enter this challenge too ! ! !

Now after all this typing am off for a rest and a quick blog hop. I have visited loads of people but have to apologise as I just haven't had the time to comment on everyones blog but I hope to remedy that real soon.

Polka Doodles Challenge

Am so pleased it's Friday as it has been a L . . O . . . N . . . G week to say the least - gosh I need some "me" time but unfortunately can't see that happening very soon! Oh well!

As it's Friday it means its Polka Doodles time and Nikky was a real task master this week and came up with quite a tricky sketch and the DT had to use scallops on their project, plus stamp in 3 of the squares . . . see what I mean by "task master" !

I used papers from the Jingle Jangles CD as my background and then stamped over them with snowflakes from the "Christmas Doodles" stamp collection. I then stamped out 3 trees (from same stamp set), coloured them with Promarkers & layered them in my torn snow ! Finally added a false window to match the sketch and hand wrote my sentiment. The hardest thing about this card was taking the photo . . . my "£$%^&*(+ camera is still playing up and this is the best photo I can get and that's taken nearly a week to get !

Right this is a quick post for me as I have loads to do and not much time to do it in . . . when do we break up !?!?!? lol

Fab 'n' Funky challenge #2

Hi everyone,

Boobed a bit on my original post and posted it too early . . . then thought I had copied it and hadn't . . . by then run out of time to re-do a long post as bed time is looming ! Am now hoping that I can actually work Mr Scheduler properly so that my post appears tomorrow (Wednesday) and not today ! Please don't ask . . . ! lol

Another great sketch to follow on the "Fab 'n' Funky" Challenge blog and this weeks challenge is sponsored by Squiggle Fly - oh, that is one lucky winner.

I have followed the sketch (more or less) and have stamped all my images onto different papers from the same kit, "Cupcake Crazy" from Funky Fairy's.

Quick simple card inspired by both the sketch and the sentiment sticker I found when tidying out a cupboard!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Edited on 03.12.09 - Since posting my card, I went over to see what was happening on Charisma's blog this week and noticed that the theme was "I'm dreaming of Summertime" and guess what, I think my card might just qualify ! So am being a touch cheeky and putting my card into this weeks challenge.

Also noticed that Cute Card Thursday's challenge was Swirly Girly and yep, you guessed it, I am entering my card for that challenge too !

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Have to dash as time has simply flown by and I need my zzzz's !

My *%&*%!* camera!

I have really struggled this week to get any decent photo's of any of my projects this week as the macro setting on my camera is playing up. I know my camera is quite old (4 years) as technology leaps forward each week . . . but this is not the time for it to be mucking about ! ! ! Enough said . . lol

Dawn over at Inspirational Card Sketches as again drawn a great sketch for us to work with and my card flew together. The longest part was waiting for the silicone glue to dry . . it seemed to take an age.

My card also goes with this weeks theme over at Charisma Cardz which is "Anything Christmas".

I decided to go all "girly" and make quite a pretty Christmas card which is unlike me but hey, gotta try different things every now & then haven't you. I have stamped my stocking & then water coloured them to be monochromatic. They are mounted with wire & mini pegs. Finally the card is finished off with some beaded flowers. Quick & simple, although I think the flowers are a touch over kill now !

Stocking stamps: My own design
Card: SU
Sentiment: Funky Fairy's Papercrafts
Flowers & wire from stash

The stockings are actually my own design which were produced into rubber last year and even if I do say so, I like them as they work so well and if you don't want to colour them totally, you don't have to !

Well better go to bed now and hope Mr Blogger schedules this post to appear tomorrow (Tuesday) as I have a L . . . O . . . N . . . G day tomorrow at work.

Take care everyone,

Lou

"Fab 'n' Funky" Challenge

Good morning everybody. I hope you are all well? I'm hoping that this post appears when I have kindly asked it to do so as I will be at work tomorrow, so won't be able to change anything! lol.

Well it the 1st Challenge over at "Fab 'n' Funky" challenges and the DT were given a gorgeous sketch to work with. I have to be honest and say that the sketch stumped me at first and then I thought that if I turned the sketch over, all the different positions made it look like a present with the oval being a tag. Can you see what I mean?

Anyhow, that's what I did . . . a present! The papers & vintage image are from one of the exclusive downloads from the Funky 12 Days of Christmas Workshop. I have punched some decorative borders with my new SU punch and then further decorated these strips/bits with some ribbon scraps.

I do adore this image and never thought I would be into the "vintage" look but have to say that I am getting converted . . . very quickly. Must get me some Kraft card now as I think these images would look fab against the Kraft Card.

I finished off my large tag with some Basic Grey swirls, a heart button and a red felt poinsettia flower (which was a Tesco decoration !). Have dotted some Perfect Pearls around too just because ! ! ! All the DT are looking forward to you all joining in with us on our 1st challenge and hey, forgot to mention that there is a prize this week too !

I am also entering my card into:

Papertake Weekly Challenge which this week is "Christmas Crackers" - which is anything seasonal really !

Kaboodle Doodles - challenge to use buttons, bows & bling. I have used the heart shaped button on the tag; a bow on the top of my tag and sewn some seed beads onto my poinsettia which is my bling !

PollyCraft Challenge - the challenge has been set by Ria and it is "Wonderful Christmas Time". Even though I haven't used a Pollycraft image, I do think my card fits into the theme . . . !

My Time to Craft Challenge - the theme is "Vintage" and I hoping my Christmas card looks & feels vintage enough.

Phew, I think that's it because I don't think I could type another word !

Take care everyone and going to have a serious blog hop tonight.

Whoops . . I'm very late . . .

. . . . posting my DT card for Inspiration Card Sketches (ICS). Sorry Dawn . . I thought I'd scheduled my post but some how I hadn't . . . grovelling apologies.

Again Dawn has pulled out all the stops and created a FAB-A-ROO sketch for us to work with and I can see myself using this one time & time again.

My card came together really quickly and I have to say, I really like it . . . not in a "blowing your own trumpet" kind of a way but what was in my mind actually came out the way I wanted !

I kept my Drake penguin as monotone as possible as I wanted him to look as if he was on a frozen tundra somewhere and also so that he matched in with the backing papers I wanted to use.

All the papers are from "Shabby Christmas" at Funky Fairy's Papercrafts and the snowflake stamp is from Elzybells. I added a little doodling & some gems and my card was quickly completed.

I am also entering my card into this weeks Pollycraft Challenge which was set by Ria - Wonderful Christmas Time. I think he looks "Wonderful" in his snow filled land ! lol x

Gotta dash . . . my new back door arrives tomorrow and I have loads of clearing to do.

Take care & blog real soon,

Lou

Polka Doodles Challenge

Another week has flown by . . or should I say whizzed by on a supersonic jet. Before we all know it Christmas will be here and then gone !

Well it's Friday so that means its "Polka Doodles" Challenge day. Nikky gave the DT a fab sketch to work with this week and DT members were asked to use the "Not for Girls" CD but to make a card or project that was not male themed !

I have had my eye on these train toppers for a while now and was determined to use the topper in this weeks challenge. So I have !

Paper & topper: "Polka doodles "Not for Girls" CD
Stamps: "Christmas Doodles" from Polka Doodles
Rub ons: Doodlebug
Punches: SU

I have also used some of the plain papers for my matting & layering and then cut our some holly leaves & berries. The sentiment was made using Doodlebug rub ons and reads "Hop aboard the Santa Express".

Now how to you fancy becoming a "Polka Doodler" ? If this appeals to you why not apply for a DT position. You must feel brave enough to have your samples shown on TV ! ! ! Gulp, I know . . . scary stuff but I loved watching my samples get shown . . my anonymous 15 minutes of fame ! Just email Nikky and tell her why you would love to join & don't forget to give her a link to your blog too. The DT call ends on Friday 27th November 2009

Hope everybody is in weekend mode . . . I know I definitely am - lol x

Funky Fairy's Challenge . . .

. . . or should I say that there is no challenge today. This is what has been posted over on the Funky Fairy's challenge blog . . . .

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Things have been a little up & down in Funky Fairy land as several of our DT members have left us for pastures new . . . so we wish Ria, Lorraine, Emma, Anne & Joanne all the very best with their "Crafting Adventures" and look forward to them joining in with our NEW challenges . . . yep, a new look challenge blog . . . !

After much deliberation we have decided that we needed a "Winter Spring Clean" and therefore we will be radically over hauling the blog over the next week, so keep popping back as we will be dropping little hints as to what is happening to the blog and of course, there will be a few surprises too ! !

Taking the above into consideration, there will be no challenge this week but we will be back with avengence next week, Wednesday 24th November with a NEW CHALLENGE, a NEW BLOG and lots of NEW SPONSORS . . . don't panic the ever so generous Shaz (Head Funky Fairy) is still involved . . . so keep popping over . . . you never know what you might find !

Happy crafting,

Fab 'n' Funky DT

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oooohhhh sounds very interesting doesn't it ? Well keep popping over as I know that there maybe a prize or 2 on offer before the launch of the new look challenge blog.

Yep . . . it's Tuesday today

and that means it's time for a new sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches. As always Dawn has drawn a "stonking great" sketch which I have flipped . . . well, I had an idea you see and to make it work, I had to turn the sketch over ! ! !

Now when I saw the sketch I automatically thought of "Snow globe" . . . can you see what I mean . . it screamed out to me "snow globe", so that's what I did !

Image:
Papers: Funky Fairy's "Lil Blue Cracker"
Snowflake stamp: Elzybells
Rub ons: Doodlebug

I have cut 2 circles in different sizes; loads of chalking & inking and then stamped my snowman into the smaller circle. I stamped him again; coloured him with promarkers and raised him up with foam pads. I have even used GLITTER . . . This is momentous for me as the stuff seriously scares me ! Made a snow globe base which as been finished off with some ribbon and for some unknown reason . . . has a huge snowflake stuck to the side of it ! Stamped some extra snow flakes along the top of my globe and finished with a sentiment.

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - the theme this week is "merry & bright" and I think my card is definitely both merry (look at that snowman's expression) and bright.

Cute Card Thursday - the theme is "Glitter me silly" . . I know that the glitter on my card is a touch sparse but hey, this is LOADS for me. The stuff scare me half to death . . so going to be brave and enter my card as hey, this is a big step forward on the glitter front for me !

Secret Crafter - their theme is "Four Seasons". I have rather obviously chosen Winter.

Well gotta dash as have to have a further spring clean / declutter (!) as my new kitchen gets delivered tomorrow !

Polka Doodles Challenge #26

This is a quick post as my head cold is getting the better of me. I finally got up today (Thursday) at 2pm, had a soak, made my card for this weeks challenge and then went back to bed for a nap ! So I am now hoping that Mr Scheduler will do it's thing and post my card for the correct day . . :-)

Nikky gave us a fab sketch to work with and the DT were also asked to use the "Not for Girls" CD. I have wanted to use the music topper set for ages and they fit perfectly with this weeks sketch.

I printed off a page of toppers (different sizes) and used the largest one as my main background and chalked the edges. I then layered a smaller topper onto some black card and chopped up (technical term) another topper into small strips. I chlaked these strips and overlayered them onto the first topper. 2 other strips were layered to form my thingy's (another technical term) in the corner.

The sentiment & star stamps are from my stash. I then finished the card with some doodling around the edges. Quick card as I don't have the patience to sit and concentrate for too long !

Happy Friday everyone and can't wait to see how you interpretate the sketch this week,

Lou

Made a card in bed !

Not feeling 100% today so have been sitting in bed, laptop one side and my crafty goodies the other side . . . . however, it's does have it's downside . . . I can't cut a straight line with or without my guillotine ! ! Oh well, still managed to make a card which is suitable for several challenges:

2S4U - used Kazan's scrummy sketch as my inspiration
La La Land - theme this week is "Getting Punchy" !
Digital Tuesday - Holiday Wishes

So without further a do here is my slightly "wonky" card . . .

Image: Funky Fairy's Papercrafts "Vintage Images"
Punch: SU new punch
Stamps: Polka Doodles snowflakes

Simply adore this image . . can't say why but I really do. Have used my new SU punch to create the fancy edging everywhere. Stamped some snowflakes over my cs and then chalked the edges to try and look "vintage" to match the image. Also stamped some smaller snowflakes onto the image too. Finished with a fancy chipboard I found & tied some ribbon to it ! Looking at my card now, not sure that I like the words down the edge . . . too late now or is it . . . . ?

Lou
x

It's all "RetRo" man !

Yep, Funky Fairy's challenge has gone all "RetRo" this week which has been brill for me as it has given me a break from all the Christmas projects I have been making recently! I have actually made 2 cards for this weeks challenge but not 100% sure that they are truely retro, so might just have to get "my groove on" and try again "man" !

I have used the new "More for Men" kit for this card. Doodled around a star sticker I found, added a button; pleated paper to look like ribbon & finished this with some string. I have added a few extra stars too. I was hoping that this card could be for a "man or boy" but not sure now !?!?!

For my 2nd card I have used the same kit but made a more "flower power" themed card ! I stamped the "Funky Car" image twice; once onto the paper & the other time onto white card. I then punched circles from the white card & chalked the edges. I then layered the circles onto the original image. The idea was definitely "RetRo" in my head but not sure it is "RetRo" enough now it's made ! !

Hope to see you joining in the timewarp back to "RetRo" time this week - just pop over to the challenge blog to get all the details and also see the "fab-i-lious, groovy" work the DT have made.

Happy crafting and off to my bed now as I have a blinding headache & think I am coming down with a cold !

ICS Challenge #

Well I nearly gave up on this weeks Inspirational Card Sketches (ICS) challenge because I just couldn't take a decent photo of my card - it was wonky, out of focus and then awful lighting . . . you name it . . . it went wrong ! Anyhow decided to just "go with the flow" and as I am running out of time to send my card off to Dawn, had to make a decision on the final photo !

This weeks sketch was fab (as always) and I have flipped it onto it's side:

We were also very lucky to be sponsored by the "Greeting Farm" this week and got to chose an image that we would like to work with . . I have chosen "Timmy in Stocking" - he is so darn cute.

Timmy has been coloured with Promarkers and I have managed to use up loads of my scraps whilst making this card - yippee! The sentiment is from SU and the felt flower was from a set of decorations Tesco was selling last year: I only bought the decorations for the flowers ! ! !

Gotta dash . . . things to do etc etc but do take care,

Lou

My Workshop goodies!

Well, I thought I'd better give you an idea of what I have been doing for the last 2 weeks or so as I have been somewhat of an erratic blogger of late ! ! ! Well had to go and help out with the family as well, so that has added to absences . . . . saying that, had a blast with my 2 year old nephew - here he is early trick or treating . . .

I have been busy working away on the projects posted on the first ever "Funky Fairy Online Christmas Workshop" and I have used one of Shaz's idea's to turn the lid for a decorative box into a sweet container . . . . so in love with the idea, I've made 32 of these babies !

I decided to make the same bags but "tweak" them so that boys got "boyish bags" and girls received "girlie bags" ! I have used the fab "Countdown to Christmas" topper and printed the pink & lilac for the girls and blue & green for the boys.

Above photo shows the boys bags and instead of using ribbon, I have used string. I used grommets to highlight the "25" on the topper and a white gel pen to make it "pop" more.

The photo above shows the "girlie" bags. They have been made in exactly the same way but added ribbon instead of string. I have to say that these bags are super quick to make and the longest part was choosing the paper designs I wanted to use ! ! !

Here's a side view of the bag. The sweets are placed into a cello bag and that has been stapled to the top inside of my cover.

Wow, that's enough for now but will post more about my other projects - some of which are taking a little longer because they are albums . . . . (watch this space Ginny!).

Take care and actually off to have my 1st blog mooch for simply ages,

Lou
