Keeping it clean and simple ....

... well as best as I can ... I just don't stop and walk away and always end up adding something else to my project.

Here are my cards from the tutorial I have done over on the Polka Doodles blog and pop over there to get all the details.

This is a quick post as have loads to do and have to find places for everything out of our airing cupboard ready for the onslaught of plumbers quoting for a new heating system on Tuesday. Have to say, other than how cold it is in the bathroom .... never wee'd so quickly in my life ... I'm finding I am getting a better nights sleep without any heating in the bedroom .... go figure ....

Have a great Easter everyone,

Lou

So cold .....

We still have no hot water or heating and my hands are freezing as I type my post. We have a few heaters plugged in and they are meant to be energy efficient but am so conscious of the cost .....

I thought I'd make a "boy themed" card and have coloured this cute image. The only thing is that I think I have made him look like he dyes his hair ...

Papers: DCWV, rockstar
Rub ons and sticker: Imaginisce
Sissix star dies
Large Scallop edgerability
Recycled corrugated card

I just love the "built tough" and phrase and had to use it. I often thought my youngest son was the toughest of my 2 boys, only because of all the pulling around he got from his older brother....

I am entering my card in to the following challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafty Blog - anything but square
Creative Craft Challenges 2 - all about the kids

Right off for a quick jump on the spot to warm myself up ...,

Thought I do a bit of colouring ....

I haven't used my PM for ages and ages, so thought I'd dust them off and coax them out to play. I had a real "blank" moment as it seemed like I had forgotten how to blend ... got there in the end. I decided to have a go at colouring a gorgeous Saturated Canary image ....

Papers: MME
Image: Saturated Canary
Sentiment: Stampin Up
Dies: X Cut large fancy frames
Punches: Martha Stewart
Ribbon from stash

Not overly happy with the hair but it will do. Probably would help if I invested in some fine PM nibs .... or even the new Graph'It pens !

Love this image as she looks so wistful and reflective .....

I am entering my card in to the following challenges:

Make It Monday
Incy Wincy Designs - pastel shades
The Paper Players - fab sketch which I have flipped!

Well gotta do something warm as we have no heating what so ever. Really not looking forward to getting undressed tonight ... think I'll be going to bed fully clothed!

Whoops .... haven't forgotten how to blog ....

OMG ..... how long since I last blogged??? Wait don't remind me. Life been a little hectic and Steve has an up and coming operation (finally) and there is lots of prep needed. Arranging a surprise party but it is being held in a different country, so a little stressful and then been on a course (will run for 6 weeks) for school which involves HOMEWORK .... !

Now it's my time to pull up my snuggle socks and finally post about a Studio 12 project for Polka Doodles ..... let me set the scene .... I am a lucky bunny as Nikky sent me loads of new stamps to play with and thought I'd share one of my experiments (!) with you !!!

I wanted to make a card that had no DP on it at all and also use colours that were outside my comfort zone. A while back Nikky and I were chatting over in a social networking site (I wonder which one that could be now?!?!?) and we both decided that yellow as a colour was one we didn't use very much, so, I have decided to use yellow as my accent colour. Sorry wasn't brave enough to make it my main colour .....

I have used the following stamp sets to create my card ....

*Pre-Order* Distressed Zig and Zag - stamp set*Pre-Order* Moments to Remember stamp set
*Pre-Order* Slab Stamps 1 - Shapes (A5)   *Pre-Order* Shabby checkers Stamp    *Pre-Order* Dreamy Trees - Stamp Set

I made my panels making different backgrounds using a selection of the element stamps, inking the edges and then layering these on to white and black card. My main background was made using the cross hatch design from the Dreamy Trees set. I even used the lickle tree to make the leaves for my flower! My card was finished with a few gems and lables (?) nestie. The ribbon offcuts were from my stash.

Not sure why my photo is at this angle and will try and redo this so you get a better view of all the different stamped layers.

Updated: more photos added which I think show all the different layers

Hope the snow isn't ruining your Sunday too much and the vibrant yellow colours in my card, bring a little spring to your day.
