Pan Pastels playing along with Scrap365

Hello and welcome to the Scrap365 and Pan Pastels

Back to Basics Blog Hop...

Awash With Colour!

The Scrap 365 team challenged the Pan Pastel team to go "Awash with colour" by asking us all to choose a specific colour palette which we then had to follow....the results are amazing!

Hi there, fingers crossed you have found your way to my blog via Riikka's blog. Don't worry if you have come via another blog as there is no hard and fast rule as to wish way you should hop ! Now I know it is Saturday and Pan Pastel challenge normally start on a Sunday but as you see from above, we're having fun playing along with the Scrap 365 team.

So the remit .... choose a colour palate and then create a scrap page inspired by these colours. Here is the colour palate I chose to work with ....

color scooped

I did shudder, shiver and have palpitations for a wee while, as am not a scrapper: would love to create more scrap pages and/or canvases but never know where to start. So it is no exaggeration to say that this challenge definitely has taken me outside my comfort zone.

Surprisingly for me, I chose the photographs I want to use very quickly (which I thought would take an age) and then had to decide what to do next. Have to be honest and say that I did do several "dry runs" placing this and that before I started (which was done more for my own reassurance). I decided to do a scrap page on a canvas as wanted to have the final piece on display. I prepared the canvas with white gesso and once dry went to town with texture pastes, gels, backing papers, kitchen towel, stencils and of course, my pan pastels (most from the Donna Dewbury Set). The background is textural, shiny in some places and vibrant in others.

I also knew which words I wanted to use, the layout actually came together very quickly.

What took up loads of the time was me. I was faffing around for eons deciding what embellies to use and where to place them all etc. At one stage I had sooooooo much stuff out that you couldn't see the photographs! I hope I haven't over done the embellies and lost sight of the photographs of my sons.

Surprisingly, I am pleased with how everything turned out and relieved as received a "thumbs up" from the lads .... phew! Please pop over to Sandra's blog next to see her wonderful project.

Pretty please ........ it would be wonderful if you could pop over to see all the projects made, as each person has used a completely different colour palate so your eyes will be awash with vibrant inspiration. Here is the list you need to follow just in case you get lost.

We would love you to please leave a little comment on each of the team blogs and then go back to the Scrap365 blog to let us know you've hopped. We are also giving an extra little prize away to someone who leaves a comment on the Pan Pastel Challenge Blog (Donna Dewbery Pan Pastel collection) but we will check you've done the hop so don't be naughty now!

Think that's it information wise and many thanks for popping over to my blog,

Lou

I absolutely love how you've taken such clear, vibrant colours and made them gentle - so they're still clear, not the usual ice cream pastels, but soft nonetheless. I so need to play!
