All buttons and bows with Dutch Doobadoo

The challenge this week over at We Do Doobadoo (which is the UK Challenge Blog for Dutch Doobadoo) is called "buttons and bows", which is a great theme for all us crafters who love our embellishments. Remember you don't have to have any of the products to join in, but if you do there are bonus points.

I have decided to ink up my gorgeous Studio 12 Haberdashery set as adore that mannequin stamp. Using Walnut Stain distress ink, stamped the image and coloured in with pan pastels (Permanent Red Tint). The sentiments have been made using Studio 12 Distressed Typewriter alphabet set and Walnut Stain distress ink.

I used the "Small Circles" from Dutch Doobadoo to create all my backgrounds and lightly coloured the embossing with my pan pastels. I just felt that this stencil gave a quilt effect which matched in with the sewing theme (per se) that I was after.

In the Studio 12 haberdashery set, there is a little button card which I have stamped with Walnut Stain distress ink and then aged further with my pan pastels. I have then added a selection of Dutch Doobadoo laser cut buttons to the card, finishing one with a knotted bow.

I then suddenly realised (just in time) that the theme was "buttons and bows" and quickly added a ribbon bow to the top of the mannequin, finished off with another Doobadoo button (phew).

I also couldn't resist adding a smidgen of the honeycomb soft board for no other reason than I wanted to!

Finally getting in to school holiday mood and enjoying my "relax" and am praying it doesn't whizz past me too quickly.
