New technique (to me) with Dutch Doobadoo ...

The challenge this fortnight over on the We Do Doobadoo challenge blog is "buttons and bows" and I decided to make a further card for the challenge with the focus being on the Dutch Doobadoo laser art buttons.

I had a loose idea in my head and it revolved around embossing powder, pan pastels and laser art buttons. Now I might be preaching to those of you that already know but I didn't .... you can tint your clear embossing powder with pan pastels ... oh I was so happy. You must make sure that you really mix it well or it can look patchy.

Here is my first attempt and although the embossing does look patchy and the colour is not properly mixed, I actually rather like it as makes the buttons appear aged. I embossed all the buttons with perfect medium and then put them in my little bag of detail embossing powder mixed with turquoise pan pastel. I found this worked much better coverage wise especially on the smaller buttons. I have added some "real" buttons in there too.

Papers are from Crate paper, Little Boy Blue and I have had them a wee while. Must admit, I had forgotten how much I adore the vintage images on the little toppers. I hand cut a heart shape and layered everything on to it.

A little bit off a lace off cut, twill ribbon and some extra laser art buttons, real buttons and flowers.

Now there is one glaring mistake ...... I made a tie with my ribbon and not a bow .... rolls eyes and sighs. Too late now to make any changes, so please pretend my tie is actually a bow.

Will still have blue skies here and hoping that it lasts for a little longer but with Bank holiday looming, we know that won't happen,

Lou
