A little romance with Dutch Doobadoo

Another week has whizzed by me and I think someone needs to add a brake to Father Time to slow him down just a little ... pretty please. The only up side with the whizzing time is it is finally getting lighter earlier and the even bigger "hooray" moment, it's not getting dark at silly o'clock. I'm not a lover of being in complete darkness by 4 o'clock, shutting our curtains against the world and becoming hermits/prisoners to the endless darkness ... it;s so anti-social.

The new theme over on We Do Doobadoo is "Romance" and I think I may have over done the layers and embellishments .....

I was given a present for my birthday wrapped in layers of tissue paper and I decided to recycle/put a piece of the black tissue paper to use. I have used the fabric stencil from Dutch Doobadoo layering it with blue acrylic paint and then adding a layer of white acrylic paint, finally finishing with a layer of Maimeri irridescent paste. You can just about see the background in the photo below ...

Recently I decided to go through all the small boxes and plastic containers I had as they were jammed to the rafters with embellishments. I have given some to school and set myself a further goal for 2015, which is to begin to use them up ..... and boy oh boy, I used quite a few on this card! I also decided that if I put them in one place, that would make achieving my goal a little easier.

On the hearts I have used Dutch Doobadoo laser cut feathers and on the circle, I have used the laser cut flourish corners to add another detail layer. Finally I used a laser cut flourish coming out of the frame.

On the top of my panel, I added a border of butterflies (Sizzix butterfly edge die) and embellished this with flowers and laser art butterflies.

Today, am off for another shopping session as still have birthday money to spend ...
