Recycled Tin with Tatty Twinkles

Happy 2015 everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful time over the festive season. It seems strange as it took me ages to gather or should I say muster, any festive spirit but once it was here, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. However that's it over for another 11 or so months and tomorrow the tree will come down and the decorations carefully stashed away. How come this can take ages to do when putting them up took minutes ...?

As for new years resolutions ... I have none. I have decided to set myself some goals instead and at least this way I have control of how long they take to complete and also minimise the undue stress a resolution can put on you ... or is it the failure of not keeping to your resolution(s) that causes the stress?

Anyhow enough waffle and on to my recycled tin (which I confess I did make a while back but could not share) ...

I decided a while back to keep lots of different tins because I knew one day I would turn them in to a project and this tin became a pencil holder. I was lucky to be asked to make some samples for Create and Craft for the launch of Tatty Twinkles to the US and have used Tatty Twinkles Cowgirl to adorn my tin.

Tatty has been coloured with Prisma pencils and I am slowly mastering the blending bit. It was strange to slowly add the colour and use each colour to slowly blend but am getting there.

I covered the tin in hessian and then decorated with various stamped images from the Cowgirl set. All elements have been coloured with Prisma pencils and "aged" with distress inks. Tatty is mounted via a wooden peg (which means she can be removed) and I also created an additional decorated peg with the "Saddle Up" sentiment. This has magnetic tape on the back so could be a fridge magnet too.

I also decorated each of the pencils with different signs and/or images, plus some hessian tails. I secured all of these with my hot glue gun as did not want them falling off too quickly.

Now I only have another 20+ tins still to decorate ..... I feel a Pinterest session coming on ... lol.

Again, "Happy New Year" to you all,

Lou
