Romantic whites with Dutch Doobadoo

What a night Friday was .... but not for a mad party reason but for car breaking down at silly o'clock in the middle of no where reason! To compound the issue, our breakdown service decided we weren't part of them and refused to come out unless we paid an exorbitant fee. This person wasn't happy too do that, so we pushed the car to somewhere safe and got home in the wee early hours. Let's just say I was champing at the bit to call their Customer Service when their lines opened this morning ...!

Enough of my car woes on to the first challenge in 2015 for We Do Doobadoo challenges and the theme this fortnight is "Romantic Whites". I thought I'd be canny and catch up with all my "Mother's Day" card (well in advance) ....

I have had this glitter handmade paper for eons and never really liked the off white/off grey colour so it has sat languishing in a box ... not any more! I decided to use the brick stencil and Maimeri white acrylic paint to create my background. Once dry, I liberally applied fine white pearlescent pan pastel which has made the background all glittery and pearlescent.

I then layered a doily, hand cut heart, honeycomb softboard and a large paper rose on top of the backing paper.

I created a border strip using the corner flourish laser cuts, mounting them on to white card and then cutting around them to create a mock banner style border. I added a laser cut lock to the heart and "Mum" die cut lettering, all again covered with fine white pearlescent pan pastel.

As additional decoration, I added a laser cut key to the rose wire stem and some laser art butterflies with little laser art hearts. I am quite pleased how this turned out and also that it came together quite quickly.

Okay I'm off to catch up on some zzzzzz's. Have a great weekend,

Lou
