GDT for STAMPlorations .....
I was blown away when I received an email from Shery from STAMPlorations asking if I would like to be a GDT for the month of March .... of course I said yes. Shery then made the news even better by sending my an a set of STAMPloration stamps and an ARTplorations stencil to play with .... happy, happy dance.
So what did I do? I wanted to use the "hearts all over" stencil in a pretty way and also play with it at the same time, so for my base card, I decided to lightly brush over the front with a paint brush covered in Perfect Medium. I then sprinkled a mixture of detail white and enchanted gold embossing powders, setting them with my heat gun. Next, I used the stencil, (again with Perfect medium) and randomly went over the first background covering the embossing ink with enchanted gold powder. After setting with my heat gun, I did the same again but this time covered the embossing ink with detail white embossing powder. It has given a real layered and textural feel to my base card.
Next I embossed a piece of white card using the stencil (in my Grand Calibar) and whilst the stencil was still in place, covered the raised areas with Perfect Medium. I then covered these areas in a mixture of detail white and enchanted gold embossing powders. Using this new background, I created a centre panel to sit on my die cut panel. With the remaining background I cut out a butterfly border and rossette.
Using the STAMPlorations "Happy" builder set, I stamped the "happy" using Archival Ink (in black) and once dry, over stamped with Perfect Medium covering the shadow in a light dusting of enchanted gold embossing powder. I have cut the word out to make it stand out from my other two sentiment panels.
Finally I added some lace and another butterfly to the centre banner and as a further finishing touch, drew around the hearts (from the stencil) and cut them out. These I have layered up using 3D foam.
Phew, think that is everything and I hope my photos do these wonderful products justice. Thank you Shery for affording my this opportunity to work with your fantastic products.
Ooooohhhh before I disappear, should also add that before this challenge, I had already played with the stamps and stencil (see blog post here) but this time I used Perfect Medium and pan pastels.
Gotta dash as have to get my son organised as interview practice day at school followed by parents evening.
