"Always play to your own tune" ...
Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone and for me the end of the first week of Easter holidays. Have been busy crafting, reluctantly doing house chores, being lazy and generally doing things when I want to ... my heaven.
It is inspiration week over at Polka Doodle Challenges and the theme is "use a die cut" on your project. I decided to use some Sizzlet frame dies and a Tim Holtz butterfly edge die to create my shaped card ...
As well as being inspired by the card template from Work and Play 8, Music CD, I was also heavily drawn towards this wonderful chalkboard sentiment. I wanted to make sure the sentiment was the main focal point, so kept my embellishments lighter in tone.
I have matted the sentiment on to music score paper which has two die cut frames hanging off it. I chose these dies as they have the same curve in them which compliments the music notes on the side.
All the embellishments are on the same CD, (or you can purchase it as a download too): instruments, music notes, piano ribbon and flowers. All layered up using 3D foam or glue gel. I had cut all these out too which was very relaxing and rewarding at the same time.
Right I'm hopping away (get the pun?), as am visiting family today and need to get myself wash, dressed and prettified ... lol.
Have a great Easter weekend,
Lou

I adore the sentiment, and I love that you left it the focal point.
