Stampbord, pan pastels and stamping (part 2)

Well the Easter holidays are over and back to school tomorrow. I am glad to be going back to work but am sad that my holidays are now over as I have had a wonderful time doing anything I wanted; bit of crochet, dabbled at painting, lots of gardening (taming the jungle), oodles of crafting, catching up with friends and family and finally finishing Game of Thrones "Ice and Fire" before the new series ... which my son now informs me that the new series is not following the books ... WHAT ... NO ...!

Okay back to the crafting. It's "anything goes" this fortnight over at Pan pastel Challenges and I have decided to upcycle an old mobile phone box in to a drawer, which also conveniently matches the stampbord frame I made last week (see here).

This is how my drawer started; it was an old box that my son's phone came in eons ago and yep, I kept it just in case I would use it one day.

I covered the box first in gesso and then white acrylic paint. Next I added my pan pastels to make my background and then covered with various stamped images using Premium Craft Brand Roses, Postcard and STOP stamp sets. I then aged the edges with Soft Gold pan pastel and dry brushed white acrylic paint to soften the stamped images. Next I stamped some of the butterflies and clock images on to white linen paper (for texture) and coloured then with pan pastels. I decoupaged the images randomly over my drawer.

Here are a selection of photos ... top of drawer ...

One of the sides ...

The other side ...

For the front of the drawer, I used a piece of stampbord and decorated it the same way as I did the main drawer base. Using my cropadile, I punched a hole through and added the wooden toggle button, to act as my drawer handle. I added some ribbon as a finishing touch.

Here's a picture of the drawer open and as you can see, I haven't had time to decorate the inside (which I will do so at some point ... lol).

I had great fun getting messy with my pan pastels, inks and stamping away like a tornado. Have to say that am also falling deeply in love with stampbord and how versatile it is ... aahhhh, bliss.

Well better get myself organised and get ready for work. Have a great week everyone,

Lou
