It's all about the journey ...

"It's all about the journey and not the destination"

I know, rather reflective post title but do love this quote. Not sure why but it is does speak to me ... okay, weird button has now been switch off.

Was out in the garden putting out the washing the other day and noticed how much my Ceanothus  bush was in full flower. As it is at the end of the garden, it doesn't always get my full attention which is a shame on my behalf, as it is striking.

The colours were bold, vibrant and striking; it spurred me to use blue to colour up Oddella Twig from Ickyink Art from Polka Doodles. Okay, haven't gone quite as vibrant as the Ceanothus but there's still blue on my tag ... okay blue/green/jade ...

I made my tag and covered it with a piece of paper from my scrap box (Teresa Collins ?) I then cut out the Honeypot die from Couture Creations, sticking this to my background paper. Next I created a border along the bottom using another piece of blue scrap paper. I added some of the hexagon cut outs to create a random pattern. I then added my coloured Oddella image.

I printed Oddella Twig out and began colouring her with my Prisma pencils. Oh my, (polite version), I really do not like colouring blonde hair and never get the shades correct, so that changed the direction my project was now going to go in. I covered my coloured image with perfect medium and then embossed her with clear embossing powder. Whilst warm I added blue phtalo pan pastel dust to the edges so it was locked in to the embossing powder. I again covered the image with perfect medium and clear embossing powder. However this time, I added white pearl and copper metallic pan pastel randomly sprinkling it over Oddella Twig.

To add further texture I have added fence die cuts, twig branches, felt leaf decoration, my sentiment (Polka Doodles Work and Play 2), gems and metal embellishments from 7 Gypsies. At this point, my tag still needed something .... go with me .... so mixed some copper metallic pan pastel with clear embossing powder and sprinkled this over all my tag, heat setting it.

Now I have a tag or if I add to a DL card blank, I have a card ..... love having options!

Off to be a domestic goddess today; can you hear me groaning and whinging?
