Stampbord Coasters
Had a wonderful week this week at school but unfortunately it didn't end so well. Somehow I've managed to pull a muscle in my lower back/buttock area, so am now a miserable so and so. Just need it to heal asap as we have the school residential looming ...
Before I waffle to much more, please do not forget that you have another week to enter my RAK giveaway. All details are HERE.
Luckily I had made this project a while back as sitting for long periods of time is not working for me at the moment ... so this is my inspiration piece for Love to Create challenges ...
I initially started with pink and purple coaster covering the Stampbord pieces with different shades of pan pastels. Using my tools, I scratched some of the colour away to give a mottles effect. Next i edged all the pieces with black coarse medium.
Using the "STOP" stamp set from PCB, I used the star background and stamped each tile with archival ink.
Next I glued the pieces together to create my coaster. I then covered the coaster with white fine pan pastel medium to give a pearlisied finish. To seal my coaster, I used Perfect Medium and ultra thick embossing powder.
The finished coaster ...
I repeated the same process with the orange/yellow coaster. Coloured the stampbord pieces with pan pastel and distressed with the tools ...
Edged with coarse black medium ...
Stamped the star background on each piece ...
Glued the stampbord pieces together, covered in fine white pan pastel medium, covered it then with Perfect Medium and embossed with ultra thick embossing powder.
The finished coaster ...
It does not really show in this photo but also covered the sides with ultra thick embossing powder to seal in all the edges.
A quick pan pastel and stampbord project which gives instant results and is practical afterwards. Right I'm off to lie back down again and rest as am determined to get back in tip top condition as our itinerary is chocker block for residential; don't want to miss a thing!
