Digi designs can be made "Shabby Chic" ...

I'm a little behind this week and don't know which direction I am coming in or going towards. I definitely need a time machine to go back a few days to allow myself to catch up. Even having a notebook for every possible occasion or thing, I am still chasing my tail. I have half finished craft projects everywhere and only half the decorating done in one room too. However not going to keep running on the hamster wheel and have decided to do "a bit of this" or maybe "a bit of that" this weekend and slowly work through everything. So when I get frustrated (bored) with one thing, can flit over to the other ...!

Anyhow, the theme over at Polka Doodles Challenges is "Shabby Chic" and I knew straight away which collection I wanted to use ... Rose Budd. Adore all the embellishments and ephemera images in the collection, so printed one of the postcards (added my own sentiment) and started from there ...

I choose the postcard image and added the hats to it (found in the embellishments section). As I wanted to add more than one layer of the hats, I copied and pasted the resized image several times. On the final layer, I lightly dusted them with white pearlescent pan pastel. It doesn't show in the photo but it added a soft, pearl sheen to them.

As for the sentiment ... to be honest, it was the first thing that came to my head. Regretted it afterwards as kept humming the song .....

I added the postcard to a distressed roses paper and added my flowers. All the elements were dusted with white pearlescent pan pastel first before being stuck in place. I added some metal, pearl embellishments to the centres.

The photo above shows all the layers ..... The only thing I added as an additional embellishment was some layers of lace.

Right off to chill as I have to catch up with myself tomorrow, even it is at a slow measured pace; well it is the weekend.

Have fun what ever you choose to do,

Lou
