Buttercups do make Christmas cards ... honest!

Had a good chuckle today as finally decided to clear out my spam folder on blogger. Several caught my eye one being about "dressing in style for your big day" and I thought it was targeting the celebrations market. As I am already married, don't need a wedding dress ... yep I know I have a significant numbered birthday coming up but not sure I would spend a small fortune on a posh frock for it, so was surprised to discover upon reading further, that it was about planning for your funeral. O ...k...a...y, different tag line I suppose but still a little creepy me thinks. Sadly this new tactic didn't tempt me.

Right back on topic, my DT card for the new Polka Doodles Challenge which is "white and one other colour" and I have been dying (sorry not intending to keep harping on about the above) to prove to myself that I can use my stash for all year around projects and not just pigeon hole them for certain occasions etc. With that in mind I have used the "What's up buttercup" stamp set to create a Nordic inspired Christmas card ...

I cut several different style circles of card and began layering my pattern on to the lower half using fired brick distress ink. Next I stamped out the larger flower several times, with the same ink and water coloured the images.

I added a ribbon to the centre of my bauble and began layering up the elements. I felt that my flowers were a little naked, so stamped out some leaves, embossing them with white embossing powder.

The wispy circle bits sprouting from the design are the small circle left from the die when cutting out my original circle and I just couldn't throw them away ...

All in all a quick card to make and have several more of these designs on the go but in different colour ways. Now better get off the PC as domestic duties are calling me. Their shouts grow louder as I keep ignoring them ...!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Lou
