Let your dreams take flight

Quite a while back, I was asked by Personal Impressions to make some cards using different Sweet Dixie products and here is one of the design I came up with ... a tag card ...

I began by embossing the Flower Burst stencil using Perfect Medium and Sweet Dixie embossing powder, Blueberry Blue. Before setting with the heat gun, I brushed some of the embossing powder away to give an aged, faded look.

Next, I stamped the small floral stamp from the Flights of Fantasy stamp set all around the edges.

On to acetate, I stamped the butterfly from the Flights of Fantasy stamp set and heat embossed it with Blurberry Blue embossing powder.

Next, I covered the Flower Burst stencil in Picked Raspberry ink and ran it through my die cutting machine. I repeated this action as I have need for two of these .... !

Cutting one of the designs in to a spiral, I then created a rose (see below). I repeated this process on other colours using the stencil as I was not sure how many flowers I might need and also what colour ... oh how a crafter can "faff" ... ! On the second stencil image, I stamped the butterfly and embossed the image with clear embossing powder from Sweet Dixie. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of this process!

Next using panel from the Fantasy Floral Border and Panel stamp set, I created 3 panels. All were emboseed with clear ink and then Picked Raspberry ink, added as a highlight. The panels were then mounted on to black card.

I mounted the  panels on to the from of my tag and then added the butterfly to the centre panel, placing a rose in the centre.

The sentiment is from the Flights of Fantasy set, cut up and mounted on to black card. They have then been placed on the card and joined together with different size black gems.

I do adore making these tag cards and even though they are DL in size, I simply can't remember the last DL card I made ... bizarre!

Right off to wrestle with a bush in the garden that I have been ignoring for far too long. It desperately needs a MAJOR trim but I've been putting it off as I know it will look dreadful for a week or two afterwards, until it settles in to it's new look.
