"Eat Me" notebook and holder

I was recently asked to make some projects for Papercraft Essentials  magazine using the wonderful Winnie Wonderland Collection from Polka Doodles. For one of my projects I made a tri-fold notebook and holder using 2 backing papers, 4 playing cards and Design Sheet 7. Here is what it looks like when completed ...

I created a 'wrap around folder' which is tied together with gold thread. I have used elements from the design sheet to decorate my front cover and of course Queen Winnie as the Red Queen takes centre stage.

As you open up the holder, you can see a photo frame on the right and a pocket on the left. Again the playing card is the focal point, along with several of the digi embellishments.

As you open the folder you can see all three sides. The left hand side has a pocket, the middle section holds a notebook and the right section has a selection of sticky notes ... (or post-its to you and I). I cut the sticky notes down to the size I wanted with a very sharp craft knife.

A closer look at the notebook with Queen Winnie(Red Queen digi image), again being in the 'limelight'. The back cover of the notebook slips in to the pocket, (on the middle section), keeping it in place. I even made the notebook!

This shows the outside of the notebook holder, (when open), clearly showing how the gold thread is kept in place/threaded using eyelets.

I have also filmed a video of the completed piece as was finding I didn't know when to stop with the photos ... hee, hee, hee! You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83xqy1R9D-w. When I made this video I didn't have my tripod so it is a little shaky ... however will redo the video again and upload shortly. Loved making this project and have since made quite a few of these notebook holders and am squirrelling them away as emergency presents. I also made 2 other projects in the magazine and will blog these shortly.

Thank for popping by and each visit and comment are wonderful to receive. I'm off to catch up with my weekly wonder in blogland to see what you have all been up to.

Take care,

Lou
