It's a blue, blue Christmas .....
I'm not sure if my tag card is inspired by the song "It's blue, blue Christmas" by Elvis or just that I fancied making something with blue as the focal point ... who knows?!?!? I've used the new Festive Christmas soup stamp kit from Polka Doodles to make my tag card. The kit comes with 2 stamp sets, (O Christmas Tree and Red, Red Robin) and a CD (full of papers, images & sentiments). As you can tell, I've had great fun with the stamp sets.
I have used the small script stamp to create one of the backgrounds using Broken China distress inks and the other was with Walnut Stain. The latter has tiny snowflakes stamped over it too.
The poinsettias were made using the same distress inks and the different sized petal/leaf stamps, finished with a blue gem.
The centre banner was created with the 25 Dec stamp and then over stamped with the same script stamp. I mounted it on to a piece of card with the edging made using one of the elements that make a snowflake. I then cut a metal snowflake in half and placed either side. Finally I added an MDF dove, ribbon and blue gems.
Even if I say so myself, do love how it turned out and think I might make some more but in different colourways ... thinking purples to begin with ...
Many thanks for popping over and I'm hoping to spend this evening catching up on my blogging, if I'm not needed for taxi duties!
