You Rock ...

I just adore this guitar die from Tonic Studios and have to say that I don't use it enough. It was great fun to layer it up, inking the edges and adding my Nuvo drops. I wanted it to be the focal point of the card although it should really have been the stamps!

The stamps are a new set called Autumnal Sprigs (part of the Bunched Bouquet collection) and were recently released on Hochanda during the Tonic Studios launch party. I stamped the flowers and foliage on different card and cut them all out. I have also layered several together to create a bigger bloom.

As I said earlier, the guitar was cut twice and layered with each layer getting a good inking. As a finishing touch I added Nuvo drops. The sentiment was made using the Clarice Alphabet upper dies as I wanted the "You Rock" to stand out.

The background was stamped with the "Just for you" sentiment strip stamp, (also from Tonic Studios) and embossed with Nuvo clear embossing powder. Again the edges were inked. The oval centre panel was stamped with some of the floral elements from the Autumnal Sprigs and again, the edges inked.

Even if I say so myself, I do love this card and have already cut and stamped all the elements to recreate it in 2 other colours ... so watch this space! If you are unsure about these stamps, please do not be as they will soon become an every day staple of your crafting stash. For lots more inspiration check out the Tonic Studios Autumnal Sprigs Pinterest board HERE.

Back to work today and am shattered - back to standing for the majority of the day and my poor lickle legs are killing me. I know ... showing my age.

Hot under the collar ...

Here is another of my projects for Polkadoodles using the new Horace & Boo collection solely inspired by the wonderful sentiment (found in the collection) and as soon as I read it, I knew straight away what I wanted to do ...

Using word I created the heart shape and filled it with one of the backing papers, adding that wonderful sentiment. Next printing out the heart and also the collar, I cut along the top of the collar, sliding the heart through, to give the illusion that the collar is wrapped around the heart.

The heart and collar were placed on simple mat and layers, at a jaunty angle ... love that crafting phrase.

Using some of the printed flowers and leaves, I cut them out and layered on to the collar and heart. Each were finished with a Doodle Gem.

Finally with the little left over bits of backing paper, I punched some small hearts mounting them with 3D foam. A quick card and smiled the whole time I was making it ... still am as I type my blurb!

Don't forget the 25% off discount Nikky has generously given if you purchase the collection ... just remember to use the word CUTE when you check out.

Crazy Cat Lady ...

Another cracking sentiment from the new Horace and Boo collection from Polkadoodles. Well in this case 'Word Art' although I think it makes a great sentiment too. It is the focal point for my circular card (inspired by the ball of wool) ...

I used the ball of wool and "blew it" up to create my card base. I decided on the size after measuring my circles dies. Next came the "Crazy Cat lady" word art which I placed along the bottom of the circle. This gave me the opportunity to cut a small piece of circle away, so that my card would stand.

I added Boo plus a few embellies and my card was complete. I also decorated the inside to match which is something I never normally do but thought the balls of wool were so cute, it would be a shame not to use them on the inside.

Have you checked out the new collection yet? If not why not pop over to the Polkadoodles shop where Nikky has generously given a 25% discount on the Horace & Boo collection ... remember to quote the discount code CUTE when checking out.

Have a dog-gone great day ...

Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles fame, has brought out yet another winning collection called "Horace and Boo" and have been very lucky to be given the chance to play with the collection. Before I show you my first project, Nikky is also offering a 25% discount on the new collection ...

No automatic alt text available.

plus there are now TWO competitions running on the Polkadoodles Facebook page

So without further ado, here is my first project ...

I have used lots of the pre-coloured embellishments, matting and layering them on to pennants/banners. I used one of the toppers, as my focal point, raising it with 3D foam. The rosette has been printed twice, in different sizes and layered on top of each other.

The wonderful sentiment is also in the collection and I have printed it to create a banner/pennant, mounting it and placing it under the "dad". I found the letters to make "dad" in a folder tucked away and coloured them black to match the other sentiment.

If you get the chance, pop over to the Facebook page and check out all the other fabulous inspirational projects by the DT.

I'm off to make something to eat as just realised I haven't eaten anything today ... yep, that includes chocolate too!

Happy Easter everyone,

FORE ... a sweet treat for a golf enthusiast ...

It's another new challenge over on the "Win & Tonic" challenge blog and the theme this month is "Take your pick" and there are four options for you to choose from or if you can combine one, two, three or if feeling very brave, all four!

Now that leads on to my cupcake box and the "Fore" in my post title ...

I have used the newly released Cupcake Treat box die set and decided to make it for a golfer ... male or female ... and thought a yummy, huge cupcake would make an alternative Easter treat. Believe it or not but my youngest son doesn't really eat chocolate as in bars, eggs etc but will do in cake form! Go figure ... !

I used the decorative panel (included in the die set), cut it from the same colour card and layered it on top. Next using the "Golf Clubs" and "Golf Ball, Tee & Turf" dies, I created the embellishments.

The die set also comes with decorative tags, sentiments and other embellishments and me being me, used most of them to create my tag ... again sticking to the same colour theme. Am rather partial to the banner die and can see that being used oodles and oodles.

Busy day today as people visiting and if the weather is fine, we're off out being tourists in the local area. I hope you are thoroughly enjoying the Easter weekend, doing anything, everything or even a touch of nothing.

Sending Big Hugs ...

Just catching a quick breath as another busy weekend approaches. At this rate I'll be going back to work for a rest 😏. Sounds like I'm being a little "bah humbug" but that's not the case ... just can't keep up as I once could. To compounded the problem, I appear to have lost the ability to lie in! I know ... how ... why ... when did this happen? Even when my eyes are still struggling to open, my body yearning still for my bed, my brain is alert and raring to go. I even have conversations with myself along the line of "no, not yet" ... "go on five minutes more" ... " it's far to early to be up on a weekend" ... but to no avail.

Anyhow, I would like to share with you one of my projects from the recent stamp release on Hochanda for Tonic Studios - Whimsical Frames stamps & dies...

The colours were inspired by the pattern paper scraps I found in my "can not throw away and will use again one day" box. I have used the Whimsical Frames set - Sending Big Hugs to create all the elements on my card. I have used Spiced Orange and Aqua Splash aqua flow pens as I thought they were the nearest match to the papers.

I began by using the frame to create a border along the top of my card and then added a paper border with some grois grain ribbon. I next stamped some flowers, cutting them out with the matching die. Some I have left "flat" and others turned in to rose like flowers.

Next I die cut a tag, added backing paper and then a further frame. I only inked around the edges, leaving the centre with less colour. The sentiment was then stamped in to the centre. The flowers were then layered on the tag and top border.

A few leaves were added from the same set and "voila ... c'est fini" ...! I hope you got to see all three sets when Paula was demoing them as they are so versatile and suit any crafting style.
