Love in watercolour ...

I have recently rediscovered my love of stamping again but also realised that I can mix them with other types of crafting. Strange statement but it is only recently that I have come to see that more and more crafting styles can be merged without having to really think about doing so. Does that make sense? I always assumed that stamping was stamping where you played with inks, pan pastels, pencils etc and die cutting you only used those elements together. Suddenly my wake up call has made me look at my projects from this year and realise how many different crafting goodies I do use together to pull a project to conclusion. I'm giggling to myself as I type as really quite "chuffed" that I've stopped "pigeon holing" crafting in to separate "genres".

The project I am sharing today is one of those moments. Without thinking, I knew I wanted to include die cutting and also how I wanted them to work with my stamping ...

I have used the NEW rubber stamps from Tonic Studios called Delicate Detail with the Mandala Moments stamps & dies to create my card. I was even brave and used one of the framed screen dies to create a background and then die cut it again in to a heart shape ... that was brave for me as not sure if it would work and sometimes when an idea doesn't appear as my head envisaged, I can stop making the project altogether.

I began by taking the Vintage Tag stamp and by only inking the upper parts, I created a frame around my base card. Next using my Nuvo watercolour pens, I loosely coloured the background, (using black and Soft Rose). I die cut a decorative panel with the Curved Crosses framed screen die and then with a heart shape (using layering heart dies). This was placed in to the centre.

Using the Vintage Flourish stamp, I stamped the heart shape and coloured with Soft Rose, cutting it out. I stamped the LOVE from the Mandala Moments set in grey, die cut with matching die and mounted the two.

As a finishing touch and to add more colour, I stamped the Vine Flourish twice, colouring with Fresh Green and cut them out. I layered these behind the LOVE. The smaller flowers are the waste from the heart (Curved Crosses framed screen) with a Nuvo crystal drop added to the centre.

Phew, think that's everything and if you get a chance, check out the Tonic Studios Pinterest page (HERE and HERE) to get lots more inspiration from the Tonic DT.
