Spellbloggers post - HapBee Birthday shaker card

"I spy with my little eye some blue sky" ... yippee.

Who knows might be able to get out and cut the grass but now I've said that, I simply know I've jinxed myself. If nothing else going to take the dog out for a long walk on the fields as am in need of some Vitamin D. Not a sunbathing type of person but do like to feel the suns rays on me.

Still having a bit of a 'bee fest' here using my Honey Bee dies from Spellbinders and decided to use them in a different way. What do you think?

I decided to create a honeycomb effect with the hexagon die and make a shaker card. The little bits inside are a mixture of sequins and the waste from the 'real' honeycomb die.

I've layered the hexagon pieces on to paper and then cut around then to give a slightly bigger shape. On two of these I've placed my sentiment. I cut the bees and accessories in the same colour card as my shaker part & card base; the embossing still looks divine too.

The happy birthday die is continuous linked sentiment but I've snipped in to it to create two words to fit my design better and also used the same paper. I was going for a 'soft feel' on my card, hence the colour palate.

Sadly haven't seen many bees about this year - sadly know they are in decline - but do hope that situation reverses itself as they are wondrous to watch, buzzing here and there.

Right better get organised before the sun decides to rest for the day,

Lou
