Using one ink colour only ....

One of my New Years Resolutions this year is to do more stamping and incorporate it more in to my crafting. Well I say resolution but what I mean is ... one of my New Year challenges to myself is ..... do more stamping. I think as soon as you say "resolution", you just start to find ways to break it or make its completion really hard. So in order not to fall off the "band wagon" as it were, I have set my resolutions to "challenges" ... and so far, so good.

So this week for the Polka Doodles challenge, I have used the fabby "Wonderland" stamp set to create my card.
 Wonderland Rubber Stamp sheet
The doily has been over stamped with the "Queen of Hearts" sentiment and then the sentiment has been stamped seperately. The handcut hearts, border strip and Marianne butterfly diecut have been stamped with the dog-tooth check background and guess what? I have only used one ink colour; Tattered Rose distress ink. Everything has been layered on to a square panel which has inked edges. I have then layered the complete large topper on to the base card, raising it with Pinflair glue gel.

Ribbon Roses: Ribbon Girl
Butterfly:L Marianne dies
Flourishes: unknown as were sent to me
Gems from stash

The card has been further embellished with mica flakes, rose ribbon, gems and silver flourish diecuts. I also stamped out a plate of hearts too for an added embellishment. The 2 hearts have been "tied together" with some white organza ribbon.

I am also entering my card in to the following challenges:

Stunning and effective card using the tattered rose distress ink for the concept of the whole card, all your stamping has been composed into a genuinely professional card, anyone would love to receive such an intricate and delicate looking card.
