Love is ..... multifold card

I decided to make a card using multiple folds which was secured by ribbon but could also stand independently with just the front fold. I know, it sounds bizarre but really does work .... promise! Please note that this is quite a picture heavy post.

Using Studio 12, Picknix Vol 1 , (from Polka Doodles), I made this romantic feel card which has different sized folds so that my sentiments can be seen when fully opened.

Front of my card with ribbon closure ...

The ribbon then opens to allow the sentiment panels to be viewed. The first panel just has an opening statement which is meant to entice the reader to look further in to the card to read the end inscription. You can see a matching frame in the background which is slightly larger  than the first.

To make the front panel stand and hold the weight of the closed card, I decorated the corner to create a counter weight. I have used the beautiful rose design and hand cut hearts from matching papers. This has been finished with ribbon roses and pins. I also made sure that I printed a flipped image for the inside panel to cover all my cutting etc.

The following photos show the card opened exposing the frames and showing all those gorgeous roses images.

You can now clearly see the end frame which completes the "Love is ...."

The ribbon to hold the card together goes around the back of the card via a cut in the inside very front panel and if the recipient wishes, can then be removed entirely without spoiling the look of the card.

The full quote reads .... "Love is .... a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination". I thought it fitted perfectly with the beautiful rose images and the natural feel of the card.

Well it's Friday here and we have a house full. Aaron has his friend staying for a couple of days and no doubt being 15, they will want to become nocturnal creatures but that ain't happening!!! Luke and his girlfriend are also visiting and I am very happy to have some extra female company in what would otherwise be a very male infused house.

I am entering my card in to the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations - focus on the sentiment
The Crazy Challenge - use sentiments
Sprinkle N Sparkle - colour challenge

Have a great weekend everyone,

Lou
