I do like to be beside the seaside ....

Well what an eejit I am ..... scheduled my post (for Wednesday) and forgot to convert it from draft to scheduled post .... sometimes I dispair of myself .... so now it's Friday and I am 2 days late for the Crafty Creations Challenge with my DT entry.

I recently fell in love with the new release from Pink Petticoat, Beach Cottage pattern pack as the colour palate is very delicate and I desperately need to make a sea themed card for my dads upcoming birthday. I have layered some papers cutting different edges using my edgerability dies and used one of the sentiments from Tiny Seashore sentiments ...

Had so much fun making the card, that I used the same papers and made another one with a similar layout but a different sentiment ....

However not sure I will give my dad either of these cards, so will have to print off some more papers and make another set of cards ;)

I am entering my card in to the following challenges:

Cut it up - Summer
Stamping with dragon - on the beach
Cute Card Thursday - by the seaside
Happy Campers - summer
Stamp n Doodle - summer
Tuesday Throwdown - toes in the sand

Now better go and grovel to my fellow Dt buddies for being so late this week.

Christmas in July

This week over at Polka Doodles we are trying to get you organised for Christmas .... uuummm, never sure that will ever work for me!!!

I have used all the fab papers and embellies from the NEW Angleberry Christmas CD to make my card. I designed the template myself as really wanted to make a mittens card, don't know why I did, but I did ....

This is my card as it stands up but I have designed it so that it flat to go through the post and fits in an A5 envelope (see below) .... I have also embossed all the edges and the top of the mittens with a mini dots folder and the mittens have been embossing using a snow flake folder ...

Here is a side view so you get a better idea of how it stands ....

Why not pop over to the Polka Doodles challenge blog and join in with us .... who knows it might get you (like me) to become a little more organised for Christmas !!!! lol

I am entering my card in to the following challenges:

As you like it challenge: Fancy Fold - this is my NEW favourite as wanted to do different folds so that my image really was the focal point
Milk Coffee Challenge - emboss it

Summer Fun

Its my turn to write a tutorial for the Polka Doodles challenge blog and I was really stumped and racked my brains for ages, eons, millenia ......! Anyhow, whilst explaining to a child at school how to layer in word, my eureka moment arrived. So my tutorial is all about how to use word to create a one layer card. Now being me I couldn't leave my card as one single layer ........

I have used papers and elements from the new Bonbon Belle CD

Photo above is a close up on those adorable beach huts ..... I want one for real ..... and the photo below shows the inside of my finished card with my fancy edging.

I have also used more of the scrummy images from  the CD to decorate around the sentiment.

A closer view of the cards edging and those adorable beach huts.

To see my card in full and how it was created using word, pop over to the Polka Doodles challenge blog.

Gotta dash as breakfast is calling me before mum and I head off for a days crafting,

Pun Fun!

Over on Crafty Creations Challenges, the theme this week is "Pun Fun" and Jaime on the DT sent us all some great images from CTM to play with .....

I have used the cute dress stamp with co-ordinating sentiment for my card and having created a washing line effect. This was a great card to use up all those precious scraps .... and I have boxes of the stuff too!

Papers: Pebble Inc, Sunny Side pad
Martha Stewart hoops punch
MME brads and chipboard button
Flower from stash
Craftwork cards, Card Candy

Gonna be a very quick post as am getting ready to go to Doncaster to the Summer Crafting event. For Mum's significant birthday this year, I bought tickets to the workshop which is with Stephanie and Nancy (from C&C) and Mum is VERY excited! We're then off for a crafty shopping spree on Saturday too. Am also excited as oodles of the Polka Doodles DT are also going tot he event and fingers crossed, we are all going to meet up .... yahhhhhh!!!

Have a great weekend everyone .... okay, mine is starting early .... yippee,

I wanna see .....

.... your embossing folder over at Twisted Tuesday and the twist .... to use something beginning with I on your project.

I have used 2 different embossing folders on my card; Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" and "Swiss Dots" folders. The background is made using the "Happy Birthday" folder with inking around the edges using Marigold distress ink. All the flowers have been embossed with the Swiss dots folder to give an added dimension ... well I think it does. The frame and beaded circle have also been embossed with the Swiss dots folder, with the beaded circle also being inked.

Papers, sentiment, flowers, flourish & leaves: Polka Doodles "Bonbon Belles" double CD
Edgeabilites: Classic Scallop and Classic Flower
Spellbinders: Classic square and beaded circles
Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" and "Swiss dots" embossing folder
White 10cm doily

All the flowers, sentiment and papers are from the new Polka Doodles "Bonbon Belles" double CD and I have used the "Tropical" section. I am trying very hard to use colours I wouldn't always default to, so this CD is great for this and I have used orange as my feature colour.

I am also entering my card in tot he following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - dry embossing

Well gotta dash as have loads of cards and presents to finish before the end of term .... making all the children lots of different crafts to do over the holidays and a mini scrapbook. Now thinking I've bitten off more than I chew..

Enjoy the sun everyone and make sure you slap on loads of suncream, wear a hat and drink lots of fluids,
