Flower-tastic Friday ...

Oh my ... am in a state of shock here ... 31st March already! Time is going way too fast for my liking and just wish it would slow down a little. Although I am in a little panic about the date/time thing, on the plus side, no more dark mornings and "silly o'clock" dark evenings. Whoops sorry, actually, dark afternoons ...!

The theme is "Anything Goes" on Polkadooles Challenges but it's all about those flowers for the DT and I have used the wonderful Bella Fleur stamp set to create my flowers but sneaked in a few stamps from the Belle Papillion set too ...

I have also used the wonderful Ribbon Gift Frame die to create my matts with Silver Mirri card ... I know, not a normal "go to" for me ...

All stamped elements stamped using Smokey Gray Versafine ink and coloured with Aquaflow markers. Even the background was created using the Aquaflow pens and the script stamp from Belle Papillion.

As a finishing touch, a few butterflies have been added in co-ordinating colours.

Looking forward to seeing what floral project you make  and if you have the time, pop over and see what my talented teamies have made too.

Happy end of March day everyone,

Mixed media fun ... yes please!

Tonic Studios first appearance on Hochanda will be tonight at 8pm
launching the brand new ... can't say as don't want to spoil the fun ....
so you'll just have to tune in and see for yourselves 😁😜😉

All I can say is there are oodles and oodles of fabulous NEW products waiting to be shared with all us crafters over the next week. Tonic Studios will also be making sure that all shows are also aired on their Facebook page, for those who can not get Hochanda TV.

As I said a few posts back, I haven't had much time to craft, craft but I have been making up for it BIG TIME! I decided to get out lots of different Tonic Studio products and have a play. Wanted to show how versatile they can be and also how you can do "messy crafting" with them too.

Well here's what morphed itself together ...

I began by embossing the flowers with white embossing powder and colouring around them with my Aquaflow pens. I then stamped on top of the embossed flowers with red ink and for even more depth, stamped again (with gilding glue), adding silver & gold gilding flakes. Doesn't show in the photo very clearly but the flowers have so much depth and texture.

Next I stamped the sentiment (strip stamp) in grey and then began to play with my dragonfly. Firstly, using gilding glue, I stamped the outline, (which I created by making a stamp of the die cut with funky foam) and filled this with silver gilding flakes. The dragonfly body was stamped on to textured card (again with gilding glue) and both gold and silver flakes added. Doesn't it look so regal...

Next I stamped the same sentiment on to vellum and gilded it too ... as you do ...  😁 I have torn down the edges and attached the vellum at the back of the topper.

Finaly using a gilding sponge, I added gilding glue around the edges and used up the gilding "bits" I had left over. I wanted to use the small bits, rather then throw them away, plus I also thought it would tie everything together.

I really enjoyed my "play" and it was great to use all these products together; at the same time, showing they can be used in different ways. What surprise have you discovered about a crafty product that you weren't expecting ... do share.

Lemonade Fizz anyone?

Recently I had 7 ... yep SEVEN cards published in Papercraft Essentials using the wonderful Lemonade Fizz collection from Polkadoodles.

So I thought I'd share one of my projects with you all. The full step by steps can be found in the magazine but here are some more close up photos (and a few brief(ish) instructions) ...

I have used one of the labels from the collection, imported it in to word and made it considerably larger. Using my scan and cut, I cut the design out and created a mat layer at the same time. This became the front of my card. I repeated the latter, created a hinge and made my card base.

I then printed off a page of flowers and leaves, cutting them all out. Next I printed further embellishments: heart, swirl and sentiment; again cutting them out.

I layered all the different embellishments around the sentiment, which I wanted to me the focal point. Finally a few flat backed gems added in complimentary colours.

It was fabulous to be asked to play with the collection again ... it has been a wee while! Lemonade Fizz is jam packed full, (with a wonderful selection of goodies), in fresh spring/summer colours. If you haven't seen the collection, pop over to the Polkadoodles shop and have a good nose.

Congratulations (with a plethera of balloons) ...

Thought I'd share a card I made eons ago for Tonic Studios using the accessory stamps and matching dies from the Marmalade's World launch. I recently discovered it on my memory card hidden in the wrong folder ...

I have used the framed screen dies to create my background mats and then filled the white layer with oodles and oodles and oodles of stamped, embossed and die cut balloons. They are really tricky to see as they are embossed with white embossing powder!

I then stamped and embossed 2 further balloons plus one heart to create my floating bouquet. These have secured with gold ribbon behind the sentiment panel.

Using the 'Congratualtions' sentiment, I have die cut and mounted on to matching white and red card.

A quick card to assemble but did take a wee white to stamp, emboss and then die cut all the elements. However, it was great fun to make and for me, relatively CAS.

Have fun with your crafting and thanks for stopping by,
