April inspiration: bullet journaling with Sakura Moonlight Gelly Roll pens in my Sakura black sketch/note book

Even though times are a little strange at the moment, one thing I have been trying to do is stick to as many of my normal routines as possible. One thing I do the last week of every month is start planning for the following month. I love to create bullet journal pages as I find it makes organising myself a lot easier. Main reason: because I choose the layout, I remember my tasks, events etc. April's bullet journal has been inspired by the wonderful song/poem "Little April Shower" ... ... AND as a complete "NEW" for me, I have completed the pages in my Sakura black Sketch/Note book.

Colouring stamped images with Nuvo Shimmer Powders - beautiful water colour effects

Happy Sunday everyone.Hope you are well especially in these strange times. I've decided to try something new whilst "at home" & some how, in a moment of weakness, Aaron has convinced me to join in with him on his NEW walk, run, walk, run app exercise thing. Oh my are my legs killing me! Apparently we can choose a different motivational voice to help us along each day ... not sure I was seeing them as motivational ...! Anyways, on to crafting. This week I dusted off my Lyra Rembrandt pencils to do some colouring which I have not done for a very long time. It was slow going but I enjoyed myself getting lost in the process. This got me thinking, what else haven't I used to colour with? Bingo, Nuvo Shimmer Powders . Mixing palate, water, powders & stamps to the ready & before I knew it, I made the card below ...

Mother's Day card using Polkadoodles transitional layering stamps + distress inks

The inspiration for next project was to try and create a layered/dimensional card but keep it one layer. After recently sending a few cards in the post, the difference between flat, mildly thick, slightly thicker & thick is HUGE in costs. Slightly off topic ... do need to get me one of those slot guides. Would definitely help when I grab the 3D foam pads or gels! When creating my card design, I took all the above in to consideration & knew that the Polkadoodles Spring Rose transitional layering clear stamp set would be the way forward. I have used distress inks to create a vintage, faded background with the stamps.

Repeat stamping technique with Polkadoodles Bright & Breezy clear stamps.

Sometimes we forget the wonderful smaller stamps & how they can grab the same "limelight" as the larger images. The card I am sharing today has been created using two of the smaller stamps from "Reach for the Sky" clear stamp set from Polkadoodles. Reach for the sky, Forest Floor & Perfectly poised are part of the Bright & Breezy collection . You can each stamp set individually, choosing the one that "sings" to you creatively the most. See below for more details or if you can't wait, check out the collection HERE .

Polkadoodles Mother's Sentiment clear stamps to make one layer card + matching tag & envelope

Following a demo I did on Hochanda recently, show casing the Mother's Sentiment stamps from Polkadoodles, I have used the same idea(ish) to share how to make quick, one layered card, tag & matching envelope. I really did also try & create a design that could be batch made if you are a crafter who sells their cards. What is slightly strange about my projects is that I would have appeared to have embraced the white space! There is also made a step by step video, showing how each were made - see below.
