I'm tuned in to you - Tonic Studios NEW musix dies

I had a real blast creating my musical card with the new Spanish Guitar die, as I decided to get a little bit messy with the background ... I wanted to create a washed background using my Nuvo Aqua Flow pens and after doing so, felt it was a little too vibrant and just didn't go with the idea I had floating around in my head. Rather than bin and start again, out came a Tonic stencil, (Fancy Fretwork), to add some random texture - using Nuvo Peony Pink embellishment mousse - which then added that pretty vibe I was after. Rather than waste the mousse, (which was left over on the stencil), I spritzed, removing this excess on to a piece of Craft Perfect super smooth white card.

Happy Halloween ... in February ... using Dressables Dies from Tonic Studios

A wee while back, Jodie launched the very successful Dressables Dies from Tonic Studios and I had great fun playing with the die collection, so much so that I was determined to make projects that were a little bit different and making a Halloween card in January, definitely fits that bill 😁 My witchy character herself was made from the a range of dies from the Essential collection however I decided to cut her from green card adding definition with Safari Green hybrid ink and putting a little more detail in to her eyes. Now her clothes are from both the boys and girls collections; her skirt in particular, is made using multiple layers of the pirate trousers with   mousse highlights. As a finishing touch, I have added Halloween themed extras from 'Spooktacular Coffin Treat Box' dies

You are Simply the best ... with Polkadoodles stamps

Whilst waiting for the gesso on another project to dry, I decided to use up some of the die cuts I had needed for my mixed media project, to make another project but this time a card. On my desk was sitting my stamp folder which is full of wonderful stamp set from Polkadoodles and I was immediately drawn to the Absolutely Vintage set. These were my starting point for my card ... I began by creating my background pieces using firstly the accessory stamps to create the decorative strip at the back of the card and also the focal point on the Stitched Circle die cut.  I've edged the circle with one of the small detail stamps from the same set with worn lipstick distress ink. As I started layering up my card looked a little sparse - anyone who knows my crafting style, less is more is definitely not my mantra - and whilst flicking through the stamp folder, my eyes finally rested on the smaller floral designs from the Tropical Flowers 1 stamp set. All have been stamped in distre

Happy Anniversary using Bubbly Funk 'Through the Letter Box' kits ...

Today I am sharing a project made using the Bubbly Funk 'Through the Letterbox' kits from the recent January and February releases ... I though I'd share an anniversary card I have made using up bits from my 'Through the Letterbox' kits from January's 'Seeing Stars' and February's 'Love Is' kits . You really do get oodles and oodles in each kit - which can in turn be used for lots of different projects - not just for the theme intended that month. F ... A ... B  as the Thunderbird's would say ....

Tonic Studios Pin-Up Girls - "Singing in the Rain"

Did you see the recent shows with on Hochanda sharing the new Pin-Up Girls from Tonic Studios? Aren't these images a little bit cheeky, rammed full of nostalgia and suit a raft of crafting styles from mixed media, scrapbooking, cardmaking and so, so, so much more ... Can you guess I have lots of ideas running around using these dies. Here is one of the projects I made for the launch and although there doesn't appear to be much happening, I had great fun using my glimmer pastes, stencils and embellishment mousse ...
