Tonic Studios monthly Craft Kit #1

Tonic Tuesday Takeover ... part 5 Last post for the Tonic Tuesday Takeover and I can hear the sighs for here. I think that this might become a regular thing as still have loads to share with you all, so watch out ...! This post is all about the recently released first monthly craft kit from Tonic Studios and it was choker full of crafting yumminess. So far I have made 3 projects using the kit but have several more 'on the go' as there is just oodles you can do with all the elements. The kit has an autumnal feel to it and that is evident by the colour card and papers included. So what did I do? Here's my first project ... I created a shaker wreath style card and filled the centre with lots of leaves and sequins. There are 3 different layers on the wreath and further leaves added. Sentiment from stamp set has been stamped inside the shaker and on one of the larger leaves. I used the mousse to highlight the leaves and make them pop a little more.  Seco

Homage to Edna ... Henri style ...

Tonic Tuesday Takeover ... part 4 Another 'Tonic Tuesday Takeover' make to share and I have to give a big shout out to Edna Taylor from the Tonic Studios design team. A while back I saw a card Edna made using the Rococo Male dies and adored the layout and colour palate, so had to use this as my inspiration for my card. Check out Edna's card HERE  Here's my take on her card using Henri from Marmalade's World ... I think the simple layered squares make each of the images 'pop' whether a die or a stamp and thought Henri would look great nestled in amongst the sports themed dies. Using Rustic Oak Aqua Flow pen as my ink, I stamped Henri. Whilst the colour was still wet, I coloured him in to give a vintage feel. As my only embellishment, I stamped the rosette from Accessory Set 3 with the same colour as Henri and die cut with the matching die. A simple layered card, which I think look striking. Many thanks Edna for providing the inspiration

I 💝 U shaker style with Tonic Studio dies

Tonic Tuesday Takeover ... part 3 Another post for my "Tonic Tuesday Takeover" and this time it's using the heart blister with matching die to create my 'lurve' themed card. I 💝 U shaker style I created the background paper using one of the stamp sets released at the same time - 'It's Party Time' - with Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade distress inks. With a Tonic Studios label die, I created my tag and stuck some of the remaining background paper to it. I cut an oval (from same tag set and the heart aperture to fit my blister. I added some heart sequins to the shaker part and glued everything together. The banners were created from matching offcuts of card and stamped using the same set as before. The flower was created using the heart stamp, cut out and layered to make a flower - complete with stamen. The alphabet is the inner part of the Clarice Uppercase set and this was added to either side of the shaker design. The

New Home card using frame stamps.

Tonic Tuesday Takeover ... part 2 On a roll now with my 'Tonic Tuesday takeover' posts and am sharing another project using the Cursive Capitals and initial Frame stamp sets ... This idea came about because I had stamped some of the square frames on to kraft card, to create another project, (which didn't quite work), so rather than bin them I thought of other ways to use them and 'roof tiles' rushed in to my head! I cut a house shape from white card and stamped the door & windows first. Masking the latter, I added foliage using the Delicate Detail Vine Flourish stamp, coloured with my Aqua Flow pens. I also water coloured the door and windows, doodling some curtains and adding a door number. The door knob was made using a brad. Before adding my house, I created a background on my base card using the cloud stamps from 'Reach for the stars' stamp set and my Aqua Flow pens as the 'ink'. Just as I was about to add my house, I though

What's a Tonic Tuesday Takeover?

Yep, it's Tonic Tuesday Takeover on my blog as I have noticed there are simply oodles of projects I have made for a new launch on Hochanda or alternatively, projects I simply was just inspired to do. So thought a as it was Tuesday a bit of alliteration was in order ... .well, why not. I'm going to kick start the day with a project I made using the alphabet & frame stamp sets which Paula launched on Hochanda a wee while ago. This project uses the Cursive Capitals & Initial frame stamp sets ... I began by making a doily using the Celtic Circle dies and then layering a tag on top. The tag was embossed with the Diamond Trellis folder and edges inked with Nuvo Poppy Red Hybrid ink. I die cut an oval and stamped the 'FOR'. Next I stamped the large frame from the Initial Frames set in Metro Grey and added the 'YOU' inside, (in Poppy Red). I cut out the frame and layered it on to my tag. I began sticking my elements down on to my card base adding
