"You Rock" dinosaur themed mini album (part 1)

Apologies this is going to be a long post as there are quite a few photos but do am splitting this in to two posts, as there is quite a lot to share! When Nikky brought out the Sticks and Bones collection , I knew straight away what I wanted to do. A quick print of several design sheets, digi images, sentiments and a few paper designs, my mini album came to life. All the pages have been made using 12" card and folded in different ways to create hidden pockets and openings. All were hand sewn on to the spine and then the cover was added. Very few "real" embellishments have been added and I have tried to rely on the embellishments from the collection. As an added "extra" (or faff as my family would call it), I have covered all the inner spine with frayed hessian. I think this adds to the ancient theme. Front cover.    This is approx a 7"x7" album size but the majority of pages are 6"x6". I wanted there to be room for the pages to gr

You are sew special with Tonic Exquisite Stamps

Whilst moving in to my new crafting area which the lads built for me for my birthday, I came across a wallet full of pre-stamped images. One of the images was a part coloured "It Girl", (from the Exquisite Stamps range from Tonic Studios) and that set a plan for a card in motion ... Using the Claire lower case alphabet, I created my sentiment and placed the words in different places. I then added some sewing themed embellishments to my project as my finishing touch. The papers were also found in a scraps box and I am not sure where they are from ... sorry. Thoroughly enjoyed making my card as to love a b

Remember the Moment ... large, mixed media tag

Oh my am I glad to be back playing with the rest of the team over at Love to Create challenges. Need to say a huge thank you to my teamies for their continued support and patience. Well on to my project ...   I decided to alter a huge cardboard tag with mediums, pan pastels and of course, Soup Stamps ...! I began by using a stencil and iridescent paste to create the background, Next, it was colour the tag with my pan pastels and I wanted to go quite vibrant so chose magenta, yellow ochre and violet. When the colour was "down", I used my colourless blender to blend them seemlessly together and then added a layer of white coarse pearl medium ... instant shimmer and shine. As a finishing touch, I covered the whole tag with perfect medium and ultra thick embossing powder. Now on to the stamps .... have you seen the new Soup Stamps from Polka Doodles ... oh my, they are so versatile. I have used the Lemonade Fizz set on this project. I stamped a selection of i
