"Shimmering Love" with Pan pastels ...

Well blogger has been a wee bit of a PITA to me! Would appear that I have far too many photos on my blog which meant I couldn't upload anymore. After much faffing, removing and saving, I am now hoping I can post as normal .... deep breathe .... and here goes ... This weeks challenge over on Premium Craft brand Pan Pastels blo g is "Celebrate" using our metallic pan pastels. Well as I seem to use them all the time, this challenge was a breeze. I am also in love with the hearts mask from Premium Crafts Brand and couldn't resist, and had to use it again on my project. I wanted to make a non-traditional wedding card but I think my card would be suitable for any "love theme". Stampin Up: Precious Butterflies and Outlined Occasions Premium Craft Brands: Heart of Flower mask Rich Gold, Light Gold and Magenta pan pastels Distress Inks: Mahogany and Walnut Stampin Up hearts punch Butterfly: K&Co I have embossed the mask on to white card stoc

Washi Tape adventures ....

I wonder if you are like me and have given in to the lure of "Washi Tape" and then do not know what to do with it?!?!?! I have quite a bit now from various companies and for some unknown reason, it scares me. Twisted Tuesday challenges must have realised how I felt and set the theme this week to be "Washi Tape" with the twist of adding items beginning with "T  A  P or  E". Being on the TT DT, I had to bite the bullet and overcome my fears and here's what I have made .... Mask: Heart of Flower (Premium Craft Brands) Stamps: P ersonnel Impressions, Marion E mberson Designs Distress Inks: A ged Mahoganny, Walnut Stain , A ntique Linen E mbellishments: Lace off cut, flower and gems Washi T ape: T im Holtz and MME Okay, there isn't loads of Washi Tape on there but I thought that if I begin to use it gradually, I will feel more comfortable with it and incorporate it more into my projects. I embossed the background using a Premium Crafts

A "Dolly Day Dream" tag ...

Nikky Hall of Polka Doodles will be launching a new CD very soon ... Tuesday 21st January 2014 on Create and Craft TV ... and I have been very lucky to be allowed to have a play with all the yumminess that is on there. The new CD is called " Dolly Day Dreams " and is indeed very girly which is lucky as this fits in with this weeks Polka Doodles Challenge theme ... I decided to make a tag using one of the new girl images as my focus. I printed the image on to tissue paper and then triple embossed her with clear detailed powder. This has given the image a translucent look (which is what I was trying to create) as I wanted her to blend in to my background. The backgrounds have been using scraps of different papers, glued together and then covered in iridescent paste using the letter stencil from Premium Craft Brands. They have then been highlighted using Pewter and Soft Silver pan pastels. I fell in love with this sentiment "I wasn't born a princess but if t

Mixed Signals at Twisted Tuesday

Twisted Tuesday challenge are back and raring to go with loads of brilliant challenges in 2014. We start the year with the theme "Mixed Signals". So what does that mean, I hear you mumble. Well the Twisted Tuesday DT want to see more than one crafty company represented on your creation (use items from more than 3 different manufacturers) and then there is the twist ..... use an arrow on your project. I have raided my "precious scraps" box for my card and have used papers from American Crafts and Pebbles Inc. Wooden embellishments are from Teresa Collins, rub on sentiments from Beary Patch, ribbon from DCWV, layered panel pieces are from Kaiser Craft, flowers from ???? .... think that's everything but there is bound to be something I have missed (lol). It is a good friends birthday very soon, so was playing with designs for her card but have now ended up making something completely different! I hand cut the paper heart designs and use Pinflair glue ge

All frosty using masks, die cuts and pan pastels

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a great holiday and are now ready to embrace 2014 with a big "MWAH". My family went off on holiday to celebrate both Christmas and also my eldest sons 21st birthday. We ate loads, drank a little too much, laughed uncontolably at times but more importanty, spent quality time with each other. This was the best present I received this Christmas. Now the 1st challenge of 2014 on the Pan Pastels challenge blog is called "Frosty Finish". Being 100% honest I really couldn't face making another winter or Christmas themed card, so for my project, I have focussed on the colours associated with "frost" and gone for blues, whites and silvers .... aren't I the rebel (not)! I have used a variety of diecuts, (Spellbinders perfect squares and Tim Holtz butterfly border) to create my card layers. A ll have been embossed using the gorge 12" mask stencil, Barok. I have used a Versamark pen to colour all the raised edges a
