My favourite craft items

These are my favourite crafty tools and the ones I seem to reach for time & time again ...! If you look through my blog post & YouTube videos you might be able to spot them.

Underwater Artist Art Journal Page using Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light

I treated myself a long while ago to the fabulous Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light and sadly have to report that it has stayed hidden in a folder since then. Finally, I had some precious "me time" and decided to get the collection and have a play around with a few of the stamps plus collage/paper piece s. It was the sentiment that really "sang to me" 😍 but not like a Sea Siren does ...! A full "how I did it" is below & also a full list of supplies at the bottom of the post.

Birthday Dah-ling ... Yar !

It's a new challenge over at The Pencil Case and we were very lucky to be given a sponsor image to use and I have coloured Big Eye Sassy Girl, Bianca ... I have obviously used my wonderful Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils. I printed the image on to water colour paper which has given a real textured feel to both my colouring and also the image itself. The papers I have used are from Polka Doodles Winnie in Wonderland collection and I picked these because I loved the floral embellishments built in to the paper. I have cut around these blooms and placed my image behind. I thought that this gave the impression that she was standing in amongst the flowers ...! Colours used: Skin: light flesh, pink madder lake, light carmine Hair: dark sepia, van dyck brown, raw umber & gold ochre Dress: moss green, olive green, light violet, dark violet, aquamarine & black Socks: black, light violet & dark violet Shadow: silver grey, medium grey & dark grey Simpl

Do you know what I find the hardest about blogging and sharing on social media? Taking clear, good photographs. It really is a daily struggle & some days, the struggle can be monumental when doing photography editing. Recently I’ve been following a few wonderful artists & a few companies, who above being creative, also share their hints and tips about how to get the best shots to show case the project you may have spent hours making.
