All things bright and beautiful ....

this is the theme for the Polka Doodles Challenge this week and I had great fun playing with loads of Polka Doodle stamps this week. Oooohhh, I have missed getting inky and creating really from scratch.

For my project I have used a selection of Studio 12 stamps and Polka Doodle stamps and have cheated a little by making the sentiment match the theme! Stamps used are Shabby Chic Roses, the heart is from "Distressed Zig and Zag" set and the sentiment was made using the "Distressed Typewriter Alphabet". The background was created using the checkerboard stamp from "Wonderland Stamp Set" and I have used this stamp on the flowers and leaves for added definition. All images and sentiment are coloured with various distress inks. Finished with some ribbon and chipboard buttons which I have covered with left over Polka Doodle papers.

Looking forward to seeing you what you create for the challenge and if you want to see more Polka Doodles lovliness, why not join us on Face Book

Underwater Artist Art Journal Page using Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light

I treated myself a long while ago to the fabulous Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light and sadly have to report that it has stayed hidden in a folder since then. Finally, I had some precious "me time" and decided to get the collection and have a play around with a few of the stamps plus collage/paper piece s. It was the sentiment that really "sang to me" 😍 but not like a Sea Siren does ...! A full "how I did it" is below & also a full list of supplies at the bottom of the post.

Legacy Keep Dies from Tonic Studios to make an album page.

Hi everyone. Have you been enjoying Tonic Studios 17th birthday celebrations on Hochanda? Oh my goodness, so many wonderful die collections and Nuvo products to choose from, each as much fun to 'play' with ... oh yes they are, trust me 😏😍😉 This weekend, Jodie is launching a set of dies called 'Legacy Keeper' which are part of the Memory Book range. For my first project share using these dies, I have used them to create an album page for this album - made using Memory Book 2  ...   The front is decorated with the new Treasured Tome A4 embossing folder creating an embossed acetate layer on top. Gotta go off topic here and say did you see Jodie & Janice trying to pronounce the embossing folders name? So very funny ...! Okay, back to the album ... I often create an acetate layer to act as a protective cover to the front of my albums especially if you have a photograph on the front.
