Witchie, Witchie .....
That's the name of one of the fab new Halloween digi kits from Polka Doodles and quite surprised myself as thoroughly enjoyed getting all Halloweenie (I say this as not really in to Halloween)! Check out the Polka Doodles download shop HERE to see all the fab but of course spooky digi images and kits that are available.
I have used both Witchie, Witchie and Witchie Journal cards to make my project .... a pair of witches boots.
I played around on scrap paper with designs and finally settled on this one. Mainly because it would stand up with out any help (necessary as heavily layered), it was easy to layer up and finally, easy to cut out (the most important bit). I cut out the boot shape in paper first and then layered this on to black card, added an tab at the top to join both pieces and my witchie boot shaped card was made.
I then decided that I wanted to do something to distinguish the front from the back of the card, so made a pointy tongue bit (for want of a better description) and layered this behind the front of the boot. Both the top of the boot and tongue have been decorated with paper drills to make them match it. I added embellies all over the top, some stuck to wire, some stuck to cocktail sticks.
This is a close of the heel which I multy layered to give a 3D effect and think it turned out quite well. Photo also shows other embellishments such as buckle, buttons, banners and bats!
... and finally .... here is the inside of the boot. I am in lurve with that "Witchie Witchie phrase" and added a journalling card so that a message can be written. This is quite a big card but does fit (just) in an A4 envelope and of course, that was what I intended all along ...... oh yes it was! (lol)
