Christmas with pan pastels
Hi everyone,
Didn't realise how long I had been away from my blog but after a bout of illness, am back and have so much to catch up on. I have loads of Christmas cards still to make but the main present bit is finally done ..... phew!
Over on the Pan Pastels UK challenge blog, this week we were asked to use only paper and card to create our projects and that was even down to the embellishments. When I first saw the theme I was a little "aaaahhhh" but then realised with the use of die cuts (where would we be without our machines?), my card came together very quickly.
The dark background was covered in Maimeri paste using the dots with edges folder and then when dry, embossed using a Tim Holtz Sizzex folder. A quick dusting of white and pewter pan pastels and my background was made.
I wanted to use this fab reindeer die cut from Tattered Lace as my main focal point and covered him in Versamark and then used my lush Copper and Bronze metallic pan pastels. He came out divine. I then realised that I did not have any backing paper to match him so use using the same technique, covered only the edges of a white piece of paper (well I knew you weren't going to see the middle bit)!. As a finishing touch, punched out the edges with a decorative punch.
I have been a little naughty and added some sheer ribbon to one edge of my mat as my card needed texture but coloured it with my Copper and Bronze metallic pan pastels (hope you can forgive me). Finally I added some snowflake die cuts, a sentiment and my card was completed.
I am looking forward to visiting you all and seeing your projects as desperately am in need of some crafting inspiration as feel it has been zapped from me.
Have a great week everyone,
Lou
