"Shimmering Love" with Pan pastels ...

Well blogger has been a wee bit of a PITA to me! Would appear that I have far too many photos on my blog which meant I couldn't upload anymore. After much faffing, removing and saving, I am now hoping I can post as normal .... deep breathe .... and here goes ...

This weeks challenge over on Premium Craft brand Pan Pastels blog is "Celebrate" using our metallic pan pastels. Well as I seem to use them all the time, this challenge was a breeze. I am also in love with the hearts mask from Premium Crafts Brand and couldn't resist, and had to use it again on my project. I wanted to make a non-traditional wedding card but I think my card would be suitable for any "love theme".

Stampin Up: Precious Butterflies and Outlined Occasions
Premium Craft Brands: Heart of Flower mask
Distress Inks: Mahogany and Walnut
Stampin Up hearts punch
Butterfly: K&Co

I have embossed the mask on to white card stock, highlighted the raised areas with a Versamark pen and then coloured with both Rich Gold and Light Gold metallic pan pastels, highlighted with a little magenta. I do adore how it turned out.

The background has been stamped using SU Precious Butterfly stamp set, with distress inks and for an added touch, I have highlighted areas with my Versamark pen and coloured these highlights with gold pan pastel. I have also stamped some extra butterflies with a Versamark pad, colouring them with gold pan pastels. You can just see them in the background.

The sentiment is also from SU (Outlined Occasions) which I have cut out, highlighted with Light Gold and magenta pan pastels. The background the sentiment has been mounted on to, is using the same SU background set as before. Added a border and some bias ribbon as a finishing layer. Finally a few hearts sprinkled here and there. The card is considerably more sparkling in real life but not the best light today to take photos. Must start being a good girl and getting my photo booth thing out as I am sure my photos would be much better.

Well got to dash as have a few bits to get ready for the morning and have to proof read my sons personal statement,

Lou

Absolutely beautiful. I'm not familiar with Pan Pastels, are they a form of chalk?
Everything looks so amazing together especially since they are all from different companies. You really have an eye for patterns and colors. Thanks so much for linking up at Chalk Ah Lot. Tomorrow starts a new challenge. I hope you will join us.
