Animal magic with Polka Doodles
Edited to add: this post was meant to show on Friday. Would like to blame blogger but probably human error! Many thanks to everyone who alerted me.
It's week 2 over at Polka Doodles challenges this week and the theme is "Animal magic". The DT are sharing lots of additional inspiration and unfortunately I couldn't join in last week so I have lept in this week instead!
I have used the "Hippo Baffday" card template from Paper Boutique 3 for my project and although you can use the image to create a shaped card, I have created a stamdard A5 card instead. The main reason was because I wanted to use my Dutch Doobadoo brick template to create some bathroom tiles (as you do). I also used some wood effect paper from the Work and Play 1 CD as my bathroom floor.
The hippo images comes with oodles of layers and extras so you can layer/decoupage to your hearts desire. I have made the bubble the feature on my card and have added extra texture to the bubbles by embossing them in 2 different polka dot folders. They have been finished with some silver highlights from a GraphIt shaker pen and Doodle Dewdrops.
I created the sentiment using rub on letters on to punched circles with a little inking around the edges. I have also embossed these too. A fun card to make and a little different from my normal style but have to say, thoroughtly enjoyed making somethig different.
Week 1 of the Easter holidays is now over and hope the 2nd week doesn't fly by so quickly as have loads to catch up ... my "to do" list grows longer at the end of each day.
