Embellish, embellish and embellish with Dutch Doobadoo

Saturday has arrived and made me realise that the school Easter holiday are almost over and I will be back at school on Tuesday ..... gone far too quickly and still have loads to achieve on my "to do" list. Somehow I don't see everything being completed this weekend.

The theme over at We Do Doobadoo this fortnight is "Embellish It" and something I thing we crafters all do. I'm guilty of never knowing when to stop sometimes and then regret sticking that last one extra embellie one ......! That probably explains why I don't enter too many CAS challenges .... hee, hee, hee.

I have used an Envelope Art stencil from Dutch Doobadoo as my starting point and turned it in to my card base. I have tried to make it look as if the envelope is half open and "stuff" is falling out (hope that makes sense)?

The starting point for my card was this heart design (made using Heart of Flowers stencil) which I had inked and embossed and then cut out. It was a "left over" from another project (all will be revealed tomorrow). I have aged it further with raw umber and permanent pink tint pan pastels.

Now for a couple of quick sneak peeks (and don't tell Nikky Hall pretty please) but that gorgeous butterfly is from a new stamp set to be revealed on 29th April 2014. I have coloured the butterfly with raw umber pan pastels and then once dry, coloured very lightly with my gold GraphIt shaker pen.

Here's another sneak peek at some more of the new stamps and yep, one is an aged postcard stamp, along with some clocks and wonderful sentiments.

I did have one moment of discovery when making my card and again I apologise if I am boring any of you who have already done this but I was so happy, I had to share .... in other words "bless" .. hee, hee, hee! I have used the Dutch Doobadoo laser art flourish corners and didn't want to just stick them in a corner, so had a play.

The corners look delicate but are very robust and take a lot of "man handling". I wanted to use the corners on my matting panel and finally settled on the position in the third photo.

Off for a bit of retail torture with Aaron today .... my head and feet hurt already. Have a great day everyone,

Lou
