Still "shabby chic" with Pan Pastels.

It's week two of our "Shabby Chic" challenge over at Premium Craft Brands Pan Pastels challenge and the DT have further inspiration for you and to wet your crafty palates. Please do pop over to see my teamies and say "hi" as they are a talented bunch of ladies.

Again, I am on a mission to use up precious papers and embellies that I carefully store away in a box (I bet you do too) because I just can't throw them away as they're still to precious! So with that in mind, I set about ageing a selection of Melissa Francis papers with Raw Umber and Turquoise pan pastels. Not to age the papers too much (so they looked muddy), I have added highlights using Soft Gold (metallic) and Yellow Tint pan pastels.

I cut out a selection of die cuts using the same papers and added either further tints or highlights (depending on where they were going to feature on my card). My canvas label has also been aged using the dame techniques but I wish I had added just a little more Soft Gold metallic pan pastel to make it "pop" more.

The butterflies are from Stamps Away and I have used perfect medium to stamp them on to scraps of the papers (left over from die cutting) and coloured them with my pan pastels. A few pearls in the middle and they are complete. The hearts (you can just about see) have glimpses of the butterflies on them coloured with Soft Gold metallic pan pastel before being cut our with an SU punch.

I have added an empty panel (the one with the heart on) as felt my card needed naming (as it were) and as I do not know who it will eventually go to, the panel would be the perfect place to put a name etc.

We'd love you to join in with us and see your shabby project and there is still a whole week left to enter .... can't wait to pop over to your blogs and say "hi".

Well the sun is shining beautifully, with bright blue skies so the dog and I are off for a long ramble over the fields. I'm not sure who walks whom but I seem to come back more tired than he does!!!

Have a great Sunday and thanks for popping over,

Lou
