Different shapes with Dutch Doobadoo
The theme this fortnight over at We Do Dobadoo is "different shapes" and I have been itching to use my teapot Shape Art Stencil .... what a crafty omen ... so that's what I did ....... (must apologise quickly as this is a very photo heavy post) ....
The stencil comes joined so that you can cut out both shapes at the same time (which is brilliant). There is also a bit at the bottom to give you the opportunity to join your teapots there, or alternatively, join them either at the handle or the tea pot top. I have used the template to create the opening at the bottom as I wanted to add a storage area to the inside .... more of that later!
I layered different papers using the template to cut the shapes and distressed and aged them with my pan pastels. I then began layering up all my "bits and bobs" until I was happy.
The hearts started off with union jacks on them (yep, not a fib), and I covered them with versamark and then pan pastels layering up the colour so that I had shadows and highlights. As added bling, I have added a Dutch Doobadoo laser art shapes: corner flourish and buttons, finished with a faux pearl. I stringed the hearts up to act as bunting and tied it to me card.
I have thrown a mixture of everything on the centre panel and some of the items have been pan pastel'd .... lol. There is a doily, paper roses, daisy flowers, leaves, laser art buttons, faux pearls, laser art flourishes and butterflies .... yep, a lot in a relatively small space !!!
Sentiment was computer generated and the whole sentiment is ....
I have decorated the inside to match the front of the card, although there are considerably less embellishments!!! I have created a "box" and stuck it down but not at the very bottom.
..... and my box is now full of tea bags, ready to be used by the recipient. I have 3 bags in the box and there is enough room for a tag too (still being made ... sorry).
Think that's everything .... oh, forgot to add that I have punched a hole in to the top of my tea pot lid and joined the two sides together with bakers twine. However, think I might change this to some ribbon ... not sure yet if I will ... will try the ribbon and see.
Now off to make myself a hot drink but not tea .... I'm a coffee drinker!
