Doobadoo and lace

The theme this week over at We Do Doobadoo is "Lace" and it is a an embellishment I love to use all the time. Not just in card making but in altered projects, sewing, crochet and anything else that comes to mind.

I have been inspired by the new rage of stamps by PCB (designed by Nikky Hall) to create my card. I have also created my background too using one stamp, repeated ..... sounds confusing but if you look at my card, it will probably explain things a little better (lol).

I have used the postcard and stamped it 4 times with Walnut Stain distress ink adding a little coloured heart in each corner by the postmark and stamped part of the butterfly.I have used this as my background for my card.

I then restamped the postcard in Pickled Raspberry distress ink, cutting the postcard out and distressing the edges. I have also stamped the butterfly 3 times in the same ink (once on the postcard). I have also stamped some little hearts along one edge too.I layered the coloured postcard on top, lining it up with the design underneath. Before adding my postcard, I created a layer of lace and ribbon, topped with 3 Dutch Doobadoo flourish corners and gems.

I layered all the butterflies on top of each other to create movement and placed them on top of some adorable Dutch Doobadoo honeycomb softboard. I finished the butterflies by lightly colouring them with the gold GraphIt shaker pen. It makes the butterfly twinkle, which my photo does not capture very well (sorry).

The sentiment has been stamped in black and mounted to the postcard with a lickle wood peg which has been finished with a Dutch Doobadoo laser cut heart button. On the sentiment, I have added a laser cut corner flourish and pearl gem.

The only thing letting my card down was that I ran out of cream card to make my card blank, so will need to stock on that pretty quick.

As a footnote ... Blogger has been a complete and utter pain this week for me and I have struggled to get either on here in the first place or subsequently, uploading a post. I am now securely crossing the majority of my fingers and toes, that the problem is sorted. Apologies in advance if my posts appear one minute. disappear the next or just appear in random orders ......

As another reminder,  my Polka Doodles 5th birthday candy is still open until 31st May and all the details can be found HERE. Whilst you are entering, don't forget to grab the free digi image and paper pack too.

Now leaving quickly before blogger decides not to publish this post as don't want to chance my arm,

Lou
