Bold and Bright over at Pan Pastels

It's inspiration week over at Pan Pastel challenges where we try and tempt you to join in with us for this fortnights challenge "bold and bright" ..... so if you haven't entered, you still have another week to do so and you do not need to use Pan Pastels to join in with us but if you do have pan pastels we'd love to see what you create with them.

I decided to go all yellow, orange and red this week to create my card .....

I created the background using a dots folder and Perfect Medium. I first went over with Yellow Ochre pan pastel and then Hansa Yellow Tint (to colour the dots) and then went over with orange pan pastel. I then buffed the paper to remove any extra powder. Next I used Magenta on one corner and a mixture of orange and Burnt Umber on the other corner.

Next I stamped my background, first in Mahoganny distress ink and then with Black Archival Ink (using an Indigo Blu stamp set). The stars and dots are from a Lavina Stamps set, as is the sentiment (free with a recent craft mag). I highlighted areas of the images with a white GraphIt shaker pen and rich gold metallic pan pastel.

I also stamped flower images on to complimentary card highlighting them with white GraphIt pen and red stickles. The black die cuts are one of the butterfly corners from Tonic, which I have cut in half to place on either edge. A few white highlights on the seed heads for added detail.

Off to the local farm show in the next village along from Mums house and fingers crossed the rain will not make an appearence. Unfortunately the Tullow Show has been rained off for the last 3 years, so we have not been able to go along. Hope you have a great Sunday doing whatever makes you happy,

Lou
