Recycling at Polka Doodles
I am not liking this "blink" and you've lost another day feeling. The clocks going back have not helped either especially as the nights are getting darker now ... it just seems as if the time you have out in the day, has diminished by over 75%. I always feel that it turns us all in to "anti-social" peeps, as we rush home from work, shut the door and close the curtains to the outside world. Okay, grump over and back to the post ....
This week over at Polka Doodles Challenges we have been asked to "recycle" and I adore these type of challenges ... and if I'm honest, so do my family. I have drawers full off bits, bobs and random paraphernalia because .... well, just because ... and .... you never know moments. Whilst looking for bits to use on my project, I discover a box (within one of the drawers) full of tags from where I have kept them because of the materials they were made from, the shape, the style or even if some instances, loved the quotes that were there. However after wasting a good 30 minutes rummaging, decided not use any of these tags on my project ... but did find lots of other goodies to use in stead (phew) ....
The "recycled" bits I have used are as follows: "kraft card" (used on this project) is the inside of a cearel box, the corrugated card is from packaging, the canvas effect card is the inside of a presentation box, the lace bits were off cuts from ... goodness knows where ....
I masked off the background and created a shadow using my pan pastels and then over stamped with poinsettias and snowflakes: latter from Christmas Doodles set.The poinsettia stamps are also from Polka Doodles and have been stamped on to white card and water coloured with distress inks. The centres were made using Doodle Dewdrops.
I "discovered"the tag was in another box of die cuts that I keep "just in case" and I have used a scrap of paper from the Festive Hollybobs CD (which was rescued from my paper bin) and the edges were shaded, again with pan pastels. Sentiment is from Tatty Twinkles Christmas set,
PHEW ... big exhale of breath as I think that's everything and as you see, I rather embraced the challenge theme.
