Colouring with Pan Pastels
OMG ... I am late getting my post "live" as I overslept this morning.Normally I am up and dressed really early but today, I slept in until 11.20am. When I looked at the time, I thought my clock had stopped, so looked at my phone ..... WHAT ... NO WAY! Panic did set in as we were meant to meeting people for lunch at 12.30. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I slept in and think it was probably before the arrival of the boys. Should add too, that I wasn't even out on the razz last night either!
Okay, back to crafting business ... the DT over at Pan Pastel Challenges have been playing around with their pan pastels a little differently this challenge as we have used them to colour our images. I used a cute Mo Manning image (Winter Fairy Talva) to colour up as this is my first real attempt using pan pastels as colouring medium. If I am 100% honest, I had to colour the image first with my Promarkers to get an idea of colours and then again with my Prisma pencils .... so all in all, I have 2 other images to use on future cards (lol).
I wanted to keep my card relatively CAS (unheard of for me I know) and created the centre band by tearing two strips of paper and layering them directly on to my card blank.
Using Light Silver and pearlescent Blue pan pastels, I created a subtle coloured band. I used the colourless blender to blend them both together seamlessly. Next, using a selection of snowflakes stamps (makes unknown), I randomly stamped using silver and blue inks. The sentiment is from StampIn up.
I then added glitter highlights with my Graph It shaker pen in Silver and although it does not show clearly on the photo, it adds a subtle shimmer to the image. I also used the white Graph It shaker pen to add a few highlights.
Now to use the other coloured images before I forget or Christmas has been and gone!
