Happy Birthday inspiration week with Pan Pastels

Although Pan Pastel Challenges has a fortnightly theme, we do have an inspiration post mid challenge to further inspire crafters to get their pan pastels out and have some messy (or clean) fun. This week is no exception and the fabulously talented Pan pastel team have again pulled out all the stops. Pop over to the blog and check out the wonderful projects.

For my mid challenge inspiration, I have decided to paint and colour my images with pan pastels using a new stamp I received as a birthday present ..... thank you to my crafty Ninja's for a wonderful stamp I can see myself using time and time again.

I recently went to my local Oxfam Book Shop and asked about books they couldn't sell and what they do with them. Being an avid readeer, the thought of desicrating a book makes me shudder but instead I bought a selection of damaged books that I can now use in my crafting. Win, win sirtuation. I stamped the image on to a book page and then covered certain areas with 3 circles of post its. Using my pan pastels, I then coloured the background.

On other book pages, I restamped the image and coloured the flowers with magenta and metallic bronze pan pastels. I cut the flowers out, covered them with perfect Medium and embossed with clear embossing powder. I layered up the flowers and added a Dutch Doobadoo laser cut button for the centres.

I have used 2 chipboard butterflies as embellishments and covered them with magenta and metallic bronze pan pastels and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The sentiment is from a StampIn Up set and I have over stamped it with the flourish part of the stamp, embossing with clear detail powder. Unfortunately you can not see it clearly in the photo. As a finishing touch, I added 3 little hearts embellished with Cosmic Shimmer peral glue.

I'm having a blogfest day today as I am so far behind with catching up with everyone, so better sign off and get going ... have a great day everyone and thanks for popping over,

Lou

I struggle with altering an actual book, but what better way to share the beauty of the pages of a book that may have been tossed aside than with a creation like this! Love the florals, your colors and that clear embossing! Thank you for sharing with us at Tuesday Throwdown Have a beautiful day! ~Donna K
