"You make my heart sing" .... with Dutch Doobadoo

After having a rubbish start to the week, the last few days have flown past .... supersonic fast! In fact so fast, I forgot what day it was today! Only one more week and it's half term and boy oh boy, am I looking forward to a week without an alarm clock going off in the mornings ... aahhhh, bliss.

The theme this fortnight over at We Do Doobadoo is "hearts and flowers" and I have decided to use the lovely "pressed roses" stamp set from Joanna Sheen. I really enjoyed using this set and am quite cross with myself that it's only been inked twice ...

The background was made by covering the Dutch Doobadoo "small circles" stencil with Perfect Medium. I then ran the stencil through my Grand Calibur and then covered the recessed areas with Gold Glitter embossing powder.

Using a chipboard mannequin figure, I over stamped it with a background stamp I have (think it was a magazine freebie) and embossed the mannequin with clear embossing powder. Next came the roses and leaves which have been stamped on to cream card, coloured with pan pastels. The centres are tiny drops of gold liquid pearls.

The mannequin has been mounted on to a piece of American Crafts paper (Lucky Charm) and a piece of corrugated card (tinted with white acrylic paint). The sentiment is from the same paper pack. As added embellishment, you can just about spot flourish corners laser art.

Next, I covered the mannequin with a delicate lace ribbon (to create a skirt) and then I began layering the flowers, leaves and sentiment. I even put some of the rose images at the bottom of the mannequin. As a final finishing touch, I added my hearts punched from the same paper but as it is double sided, I could get 2 different patterns of the hearts.
