Inspired by a piece of wallpaper ...
Yep, title is right, I was inspired by a piece of left over wallpaper after decorating my sons bedroom. He has chosen lots of iconic images, cartoons, posters etc to decorate his bedroom and rather than waste what was left over, I kept pieces (as a crafter does), to use one day.
I have used both the wallpaper and the stamp set from Tatty Twinkle to create a canvas. The canvas was one of my samples set off to Crafting UK for the Tatty Twinkle USA shows ...
I have put the main image in to the centre of my canvas on different strips of red, white and blue card.. The small star strips were created using the star border, which is one of the extras on the stamp set.
I have coloured the main image with Prisma Pencils and have gone for plain blue as thought this was the most generic design and didn't want to offend anyone.
The sentiment has been stamped three times and layered on to opposite corners. I stamped a star die cut with the stars border and round USA stamp. In the corner, you can see the lickle medal stamps.
The border was created using the silhouette stamp of The Marine Corps Memorial in Washington, stamped repeatedly on a start border.
I have added some gold and blue buttons and Dutch Doobadoo arrows as a finishing touch.
Right I have lots of domestic chores to catch up before visitors descend. Have a wonderful weekend everyone,
Lou
