Die cutting meets stampbord ... and both survive!

It's inspiration week over at "Love to Create Challenges" and for my project I wanted to show that stampbord doesn't always have to be used to create an "arty" project but could be incorporated with your other crafty stash. In this instance die cuts ...

I began by stamping the chalk board image (from Polka Doodles) with sepia archival ink and then coloured the image with my pan pastels. I repeated the process three times. I layered all the chalk board images on to recycled corrugated card which I highlighted with white pearlescent pan pastel.

Next I cut 3 wreath die cuts (Simon Says Stamp) in 2 shades of green and one in white and layered them on top of each other over the centre panel. I decorated the wreath with sequins, stickles and pearl gems.

With my stampbord, I restamped the chalkboard image to obtain the "Merry Christmas" greeting and coloured where necessary. I scratched in to the words to add highlights and covered the edges in copper embossing powder.

The little hearts were part of the same die cut and I randomly placed them around my card. This is a quick card to make as you are using the same image and the placing is straightforward. I can see myself making a few of these in different colourways .... fancy shades of blue next ...

Right, I'm off to chill after a busy weekend catching up on the decorating and gardening and my poor old body is feeling the exertions I put it through!

Have a wonderful week everyone,

Lou
