The Pencil Case opens ......

Welcome to the brand new Crafting Challenge at The Pencil Case! The lovely talented Design Team members are excited to show how amazing Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils are!! This oil based range of pencils have been around for many years and are tried and tested Artist's Quality LIGHTFAST pencils which you will love!

Now these great pencils are really smooth and buttery in texture and consistency and offer a fantastic range of bright, vibrant colours which blend really easily and work on a fantastic array of different surfaces. They are German manufactured which means superior quality to many other well known brands and being Lightfast means that unlike other brands you can be assured if you colour an image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour the image wont be all faded in 2 days from sitting on a windowsill - UBBER important to us as crafters!

So for our first challenge here is what I made using the fab pencils ...

I created my background using my a Dutch Doobadoo stencils and pan pastels which gave me the brick background. The green paper was created using a further embossing folder, versamark ink and again, my pan pastels. Using scraps of paper book and map pages, I made my bunting and threaded it through my card base. The frame is a wooden one from my "things" drawer covered in white pan pastel ...

I punched some holes in the side of the card and threaded the ribbon through them ending with a knot. My image is layered on to distressed card.

I have used Oddella Twig from Polka Doodles Ickyink Art range and used my Lyra Rembrandt polycolour pencils in the following colours:

Skin: Ochre, gold ochre, venetian red, white, light grey
Eyes: light blue and true blue
Hair: black, medium grey, dark sepia, GraphIt white shake pen
Dress: Blue violet, Light colbalt, medium grey, white.
Tights: black, medium grey
Boots: Van Dyck brown and dark sepia.

A few found flowers and hearts as added embellishments and my card was finished. The sentiment is made up of digi scrabble tiles from Polka Doodles Work and Play 9. Now please do pop over and see what my talented team mates have been up to with their pencils over at The Pencil Case.

I'm travelling home from Ireland so will be on my journey when this post goes live but will catch up with everyone when I have completed the unpacking, bought some food and shaken the long journey off.
