A quick pan pastels tutorial
It's a new challenge over at Love to Create and I thought I'd share a quick project with you using pan pastels ...
Using
perfect medium stamp the roses, leaves and buds on to the same colour card. Colour
roses with pearlescent yellow (in centre) and pearlescent orange on outer
edges blending out with the colourless blender. Highlight petals using a rubber which takes away excess pan pastel. Cut out
all flowers.
Apologies for the poor photos but I lent my camera to my son for a media project and I think he has fiddled with the settings although he swears he hasn't .... uuummm, was taking great shoots before it's outing with him!
Hoping to give my car a long overdue wash and clean today, if the rain stays away, as unfortunately it is looking very sorry for itself. Hope your day is a little more exciting than mine,
Lou

Happy Birthday Today
Using
the bricks stencil, run through your die cutting machine and emboss. Leave the stencil
in place and colour starting with the darkest colour, raw umber pan pastel and place a the bottom of each brick.
Next add yellow ochre and finally
pearlescent orange pan pastel. Blend them together with colourless blender.
Colour
leaves with pearlescent green, bright yellow green and permanent green shade.
Again blend with colourless blender and cut out. Use
pearlescent orange pan pastel to colour buds and pearlescent green, bright
yellow green and permanent green shade for the leaves/stem. Blend with
colourless blender and cut out.
Using the same colour card, cut a die cut
frame and a smaller inner panel. Stamp the sentiment on to the inner panel and colour
the edges with pearlescent red pan pastel. Place the frame and sentiment panel centrally on to the brick background. Begin
adding the stamped images around your frame, layering at different heights. Finish the flowers with gold pearl Liquid pearls adding some
wooden hearts as embellishments, coloured with pearlescent red pan pastel.
