"You Rock" dinosaur themed mini album (part 1)
Apologies this is going to be a long post as there are quite a few photos but do am splitting this in to two posts, as there is quite a lot to share!
When Nikky brought out the Sticks and Bones collection, I knew straight away what I wanted to do. A quick print of several design sheets, digi images, sentiments and a few paper designs, my mini album came to life. All the pages have been made using 12" card and folded in different ways to create hidden pockets and openings. All were hand sewn on to the spine and then the cover was added. Very few "real" embellishments have been added and I have tried to rely on the embellishments from the collection. As an added "extra" (or faff as my family would call it), I have covered all the inner spine with frayed hessian. I think this adds to the ancient theme.
This photo gives you an idea of how big the album is and a little sneak peek at some of the hidden elements...
The inside cover has a little pocket edged with the hessian for either tags, photos or in my case, a note book. Page one has a hidden inside pocket to hide a journalling page/tag.
A close up of the handmade notebook and also the journalling tag/page peeping out of the pocket.
IThese two pages have areas to add photos and any journalling. Page 2 also has a hidden tag/page which shares the same pocket as page 1. Page 2 has a smaller pocket and I thought tags, tickets or memrobilia could be added here.
Photo shows one of the many tags I have made for this album using up my paper scraps.
I am showing these two pages seperately as they both do different things, which however hard I try, doesn't make sense in the written form ... hence lots of photos. Above shows page 4 as you would look at it you you first opened the album. However ...
... if you pull the page open to the left, it reveals a hidden pocket with a removeable, double sided journalling/photo tag/page. (see photo below).
Now ... how to describe page 5. The page has been split across the middle to create two tabs that open outwards. The bone and button are the mechanism to open the pages and they reveal ...
... an inner panel where you can place a photo and extra journalling areas.
PHEW ... gonna stop there for the moment as there are quite a few more pages to share; they also have little extras too ...! One of the things I really must do very soon is make a box for the album (to protect it) and find someone who would like it as a gift. Uuummmm, my sister and I took the boys to Dinosaur Park the other year ... I wonder ...
Today is a day of nagging/boring jobs: banking, washing, housework but whilst the sky is a beautiful blue colour, I'm off to walk the dog.

Front cover.
This is approx a 7"x7" album size but the majority of pages are 6"x6". I wanted there to be room for the pages to grow in both width and in height. The photo below is a close up of the front cover. Gotta love that dinosaur ...
